  1. Is it best to call a hotel directly when wanting to use the Entertainment Card, or is it possible to get the same deal using the Entertainment Card web site?
  2. I would add the the "Kauai Underground" guide is another excellent source of information. Having used a "Revealed" book while on Oahu, and the "Underground" guide while on Kauai, I have to say that the latter was much more consistently good in its advice and information. The "Revealed" book does seem to have more detailed information, but some things weren't totally reliable. That's just my two cents worth.
  3. If I select 4* (and not resort), is it possible to get the Hyatt without the risk of getting the Plaza?
  4. Thanks for the reply. I know that I wouldn't be able to target a specific hotel using Priceline. I am puzzled as to why Priceline would put two hotels that differ so much in quality (and price) in the same classification. I will check Hotwire. Thanks.
  5. I would like to try bidding on Priceline to get the Hyatt Regency Resort in Scottsdale. However, according to your lsitings, the Scottsdale Plaza Resort is also listed as a "resort". I would like to avoid the Plaza if possible. My stay would be April 7-9.
  6. Thanks for the replies. I succeeded in getting a room at the Hawaii Prince for $121 (plus the $10 bonus from PriceLine). I used some of the bidding tips I read in this forum and got it on my third try. :) Can't wait to go, especially after reading the many positive reviews of the Prince. Thanks.
  7. I had booked a hotel in Cancun (through PriceLine), but my reservation was cancelled because the hotel will be closed due to damage from Hurricane Wilma. I got Delta to rebook my flight (using SkyMiles) to Honolulu instead of Cancun. Now I just need to find a good hotel. I had paid $105 per night for a 4 star hotel in Cancun (Marriott Casa Magna). Is it reasonable for me to expect to get a 4 star hotel in Waikiki for the same price? Actually, since the booking was cancelled by the hotel, I get a $10 per night bonus from PriceLine. So my bid would be $115. Is my hope in vain?
