  1. uhm... Downtown is my favourite but I can consider other areas except midtown, times square etc. (touristic areas) Of course Manhattan and not brooklyn Many thanx
  2. Thanx for your precious help. I already know this 2 offers... and I'd prefer to bid... Reasons: 4* for $85 is really good If it'd be the Holiday Inn. Probably it's the small standard room (I have a King Deluxe now) but... If the offer is for the Club Quarters Wall Street... no way... I know their offers.. usually for $85 what you get. is the small queen, no view and lower floors.. claustrophobic 4.5* for $119 sounds better. Gild Hall is ok. I've been to this Hotel quite many times in the past... But since January should be slow I'd like to try my luck bidding a couple of times... what do you think? Does it make sense? Thanks a lot Luca
  3. Ok Aaron.. got you. Just did it. My budget would be less than 135/nite incl.taxes (around $117+taxes) I know it sounds steep but maybe January is slow.. what do you think? 4.5* is super fine.. Thanx
  4. Ok Thanx thereuare, after many attempts I booked the Nines for $238 + TAX... not exactly what I wanted but not too bad. Thanx to you and to everybody
  5. Hi everybody, I'm planning to spend 6 days from 01/12/2017 to 01/18/2017 in New York City. My favourite area is Downtown - Financial District. Any suggestion about the entry level price for a 4.5 or 5 stars? Is it January a good and slow period for bidding? I already have a reservation to Holiday Inn - Financial District for $821 incl. taxes (136/nite incl. taxes) that is quite good but... I'd like to get something better... Many Thanks Luca
  6. From Aug 31st to sep 2nd... Is it the Nines hotel?? No way to be wrong, right? Already tried $120 and $130 Any suggestion? Thanx Luca
  7. I really love stone street and I'll try Adrienne pizza... I'm from Italy my dear and I'll let you know if they serve the real Italian grandma pizza! ;) ;) Thanx Luca
  8. GOT IT!! World Center Hotel from Aug 20th to 22nd $185 per night... total $370.00 Taxes and Fees: $85.56 Priceline Hotel Coupon: -$18.50 Total Charged to Card: $437.06 MANY MANY MANY Thanx...
  9. Yes I'm quite familiar with re-bidding. Last Question... do you think I could have a chance to win a bid offering $200 for a 4.5* or 5* in another zone??
  10. Yes I'm ready for a 4* in downtown... hope to avoid Club Quarters and World Center... I don't like them too much
  11. Ok thanks.. i will do it for sure... $165-185 is definitely my area... max bid $200 but for a real 4.5* or 5*... I know it's not easy...Really thanks
  12. Your suggestions are precious as usual... I've just booked the W downtown from aug 22 to 26 thanks to a fantastic promo rate ($199 taxes included  ) so now I'm looking for a 4.5* or 4* from 20 to 22nd... only 2 days... rates at the W seem to be really expensive.. more than 300 bucks. I know that moving from an hotel to another is a little bit uncomfortable but... What about a 4* Downtown... just for 2 days... what would be the right bid?? Thanx PS I always use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin my travel purchases ;)
  13. Hi, I won a bid last november thanks to your suggestions and I really enjoyed my stay at W downtown... I'll be in NYC again from aug 20th to 26th with my wife and I'd like to stay in the same area (downtown-financial) Do you have any idea about 4.5* hotels? W is included in those? Last time no 4.5 were in the list... During that period the median retail price for a 4.5 star hotel in Downtown is $234 Average winning bid: $168/night Any suggestion for my bid? Thanks
  14. The W actually gave me a counter-offer but the price was too high ($289) I'm ready to add Chelsea... I love Chelsea... As I said my max bid is 250/260... At what price you suggest to start?? 190??
  15. I'll be in NYC from 16th to 21st and I've already booked a hotel on Priceline for 3 nites from 18th to 21st for $210 at W Downtown... really happy about it.. I tried to extend my stay but the hotel rejected my offer... So.. now I need to book a 4* from 16t to 18th. My favourite areas are Downtown-Financial District and Chelsea. My max bid is from 230 to 260 per day and I've already tried up to 250 only in chelsea... but no way... Anyone could help me? Any suggention? I know that is a very busy week... It'd be great not to move from W Downtown.... Thanks Luca
  16. Yep.. I tried but no luck... I'm trying increasing my offer... just tried $240 but no way... I don't know if it's better t wait till tomorrow... is it a good strategy?
  17. Got it! For $210 from october 18 to 21... Now I'm triyng to extend my stay because I'll be in NY from Oct 16th but no way... W downtown starts from 276... do you think it's going to change it?? It seems that NYC is etremely busy during that week... any suggestion for a 4 star hotel from 16th to 18th?? Thanx Lesto
  18. Just booked on Priceline the W downtown from Oct 18th to 21st for $210... now I need a room from 16th to 18th...
