  1. I wanted the Hyatt in Morristown, and the BB hotel list indicated that there were only two 3* hotels in this region, the Hyatt and Dolce. I'm actually not sure that Dolce exists any more, but at any rate, I went to the Dolce website and ascertained that they had no local availability for those dates. Hence, I was fairly certain that if I got anything, it would be the Hyatt. I figured I'd start out low and bid $47...accepted! I'm quite pleased, as currently it's $99 on hyatt.com and $69 on hotwire. Thanks Better Bidding!! Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $47.00 Subtotal: $94.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $22.37 Total Charges: $116.37
  2. I just had three consecutive failed bids for 3* in Cincinnati (North - Sharonville) for June 18-20. I was aiming for the Sheraton that several others seem to have successfully gotten in this region, but no dice. I may wait until after the holiday weekend and try again. These were my bids: $40, 3*, North - Sharonville...rejected $43, 3*, added Cincinnati East (no 3* in that region)...rejected $45, 3*, added Ft. Mitchell (ditto - I love this board)...rejected For what it's worth!
  3. Sorry it took me so long to reply - the address is 150 Stoneridge Dr., Columbia. This is NOT the Residence Inn Northeast. It was a very pleasant stay - it was quiet and clean, and they had a good breakfast buffet. I'm normally very frightened by extended stay properties, but after this I would definitely consider staying at a Marriott Residence Inn again. Again, so sorry for the delay! :)
  4. Bid $50 for 2.5* in Columbia and got the Residence Inn (Marriott); I think it's in the downtown section of the map.
  5. Whew! Just went through 8 bids to end up here... I really wanted the university area, so began there at 3* for $36...rejected. Progressively added Fort Mill, Gastonia, Independence (because none have above 2.5*), bid $40, $45, $50...rejected. Added downtown (3* & 4*) and bid $45...rejected. Added Pineville & Rock Hill (again, nothing above 2.5*), bid $50, $55...rejected. (!) Finally in desperation added airport area, bid $35...rejected. Added Matthews, bid $40...accepted. SHEESH. :)
  6. I'm so glad I found this forum. I first bid $42 for 3* downtown Madison...rejected. Then I employed the strategy endorsed here: I determined that Madison (south) had no 3* hotels, so I added that region and re-bid $45. Accepted. Whoo-hoo.
  7. Sorry for the delay in responding, and also for not posting my bid history. I started out at $35 for 3*, which was rejected. I then came here, looked around, and decided that $50 would be reasonable. I expanded my search area to the airport region (I think), rebid ($50), and got my 3*** downtown hotel (which is what I wanted). I hope this is helpful to someone!
  8. This was my second time using Priceline, and I'm pretty pleased with the result. The first time I failed to notice that ExtendedStay America was on the 2* list...after a VERY unpleasant episode involving fleas, I just won't stay there! This is much nicer. :)
