  1. Hi guys,

Wanted to thank you for all your help. After not having any luck for well over a week and not really wanting to split my bid, I ended up booking an apartment rental in Greenwich Village that worked better. I did end up bidding for a hotel on Priceline in Stamfor CT (3.5*) for our way down on October 12th and won the Stamford Marriott Hotel and Spa for $68.

  2. I have gone up to $175 on 3.5 and 4(no enough I Know) I have read another thread with bidding strategy up to $150 for a 3*. I would prefer not to split my bid if possible(I think needing to switch mid vacation would be a bother). The rate at the Long Island City Hojo's is $151.(I figured a 2* that I can identify is safer than an unknown 2*0

Also, to verify, is Coney Island the only rebid zone for 3*? Where exactly is Queensborough bridge area , what is it like and how far away from transit?

  3. Thanks. I have been attempting for the past week or so bidding on 4, 3.5 and 3* with no luck. I have a 2* Howard Johnson's booked in Long Island City for the dates as back up but I can cancel. For a first trip to NYC I would really like to be in Manhattan. STill trying to keep expenses on the low side if possible($150-170ish, I know this is very low for this time of year)I have read and think I understand rebidding(I think my rebid zones for 4* are Coney Island,Long Island City,Lower East Side, Morningside, Queensborough bridge and Upper East Side) Are there preferable areas for 3.5, 3 and even 2.5? I think I want to avoid a shared bath so it looks like I should avoid MSG for a 2.5) Any input or ideas would be appreciated.
