  1. Hi guys, Wanted to thank you for all your help. After not having any luck for well over a week and not really wanting to split my bid, I ended up booking an apartment rental in Greenwich Village that worked better. I did end up bidding for a hotel on Priceline in Stamfor CT (3.5*) for our way down on October 12th and won the Stamford Marriott Hotel and Spa for $68.
  2. What would your best guess be for the 2.5* CPW be? I can't find one on the hotwire list
  3. I have gone up to $175 on 3.5 and 4(no enough I Know) I have read another thread with bidding strategy up to $150 for a 3*. I would prefer not to split my bid if possible(I think needing to switch mid vacation would be a bother). The rate at the Long Island City Hojo's is $151.(I figured a 2* that I can identify is safer than an unknown 2*0 Also, to verify, is Coney Island the only rebid zone for 3*? Where exactly is Queensborough bridge area , what is it like and how far away from transit?
  4. Would prefer not to be too far away from access to public transit. Small really doesn't bother me, we are there to see the city, not hang out in the room. I would hope to get a 3 or higher but after trying don't know if it will happen.
  5. Thanks. I have been attempting for the past week or so bidding on 4, 3.5 and 3* with no luck. I have a 2* Howard Johnson's booked in Long Island City for the dates as back up but I can cancel. For a first trip to NYC I would really like to be in Manhattan. STill trying to keep expenses on the low side if possible($150-170ish, I know this is very low for this time of year)I have read and think I understand rebidding(I think my rebid zones for 4* are Coney Island,Long Island City,Lower East Side, Morningside, Queensborough bridge and Upper East Side) Are there preferable areas for 3.5, 3 and even 2.5? I think I want to avoid a shared bath so it looks like I should avoid MSG for a 2.5) Any input or ideas would be appreciated.
  6. I am going to keep trying on HOTWIRE, checking daily. I will start a message on the PRICELINE link with my questions for that site:)
