8/31/12-9/2/12 Got the 3.5* King and Grove New York on E. 29th St. for $125. It was a busy weekend with the US Open in town and Labor Day weekend travelers in the city. I tried everything on priceline and got up to $190 and didn't get a win so I tried Hotwire. Great location, nice boutique hotel. Nice for one or maybe two people, the rooms are kinda small, but it is NYC and that should be expected.

3* in Southbury for 9/3/12-9/9/12 for $55. Heritage Hotel. In this area you really can't go wrong. For $55 or sometimes $60 you will get either The Heritage Hotel or the Crowne Plaza. There are only two 3 stars in this region so you know what you are getting. Both are decent places. I prefer the Heritage because they have two pools, raquetball, and a weight room, as well as mountain bikes and other diversions. They also have 40" flat screens in the rooms with HD feed. The Crowne Plaza is a little less updated but is clean and well kept with a nice bar. Cheers.
