  1. I used the Priceline link on the betterbidding.com website. I wanted to be in this zone and started bidding at $62. Added other zones with no 4* hotels and bid $66, $70, $75, and $80 before winning with $85. Priceline's Express Deal for this zone and star level was $90. Very happy with this hotel, but the other 4* in this zone is also outstanding.
  2. Needed a room near the airport for a seminar. My first bid was for $50.00 for a 3 star in the airport zone. This was rejected, so I added the Airport South Zone and increased my bid to $55.00. This was rejected, so I added the South Park zone and increased my bid to $60, which was accepted. The PRICELINE EXPRESS deal for this zone and a 3 star was $65.00, so I saved $5.00 by bidding. The lowest price on the hotel's website was $93.00 I used the PRICELINE link on this site to place my bid.
  3. Used the Better Bidding link. This hotel should be added to the list of possibilities.
  4. I wanted to get this specific hotel. Fortunately, it is currently the only four star in the zone, and none of the other Charlotte zones except downtown have four star hotels. The hotel website had rooms for $114 for this period. I started bidding at $57 and was declined. I kept adding $5 and adding other free rebid zones until getting the room for $72. The total price for the two nights was $178. HOTWIRE would have been $202 and the hotel website would have been $263.
  5. I must have overbid on this room, because I got it on the first try. The internet rate on the room is $169 per night. I did not see a lot of history on this area and saw some old wins at $60. I wanted to stay at this hotel for a meeting, so I bid a little higher to hopefully speed up the process. It is the only 4 star in the Galleria area, so it was nice to know I would get the hotel I wanted. I used the link on Better Bidding to access PRICELINE.
  6. Thanks for the tip. I will try it on my next ATL trip. I used Priceline last weekend and got the W Hotel. I am 61 years old and the W does not appeal to me at all. In addition to my not liking the decor or atmosphere, you are required to use valet parking at $32 per day. I have always loved the Priceline 4* Buckhead hotels. Before the W ruined things, the possibilities were the Intercontinental (unfortunately now a 5*, and deservedly so), Grand Hyatt, Westin, and JW Marriott. These are all super-fine hotels. I am afraid the W will be what you always get on Priceline going forward. In my opinion, it is not remotely comparable to the other 4* in this area.
  7. First bid was $60. Rebid $65 and added Morrow. Rebid $70 and added Druid Hills. Rebid $75 and added Smyrna. Added Chamblee and won with $80 bid. Based on current rates, I expected either to get W or the Grand Hyatt. I was hoping for the Grand Hyatt because I have stayed in a W at Atlanta Perimeter Center and was not very impressed. Hopefully the W Hotel in Buckhead will be better. I had tried to get the 5* Intercontinental yesterday. I started bidding at $80 and stopped after being declined at $100. I used the PRICELINE link on this site to place my bid.
  8. I used the Better Bidding PRICELINE link to get this room. Based on the Priceline Maps, hotels in this zone have gone for as little as $40 per night, although not recently. I placed my first bid for $40 and was rejected. I was offered a room for $53 without rebidding and declined it. I added the Lexington zone as a free rebid (no 3* in that zone) and increased my bid to $44. I was rejected again. I then added the airport zone (also no 3*) and increased my bid to $48 and was accepted. Taxes were $11.66 and fees were $9.82. Interestingly, this hotel is named Columbia-Airport, but it is in the Northwest zone (barely).
  9. Viewed the Better Bidding Priceline Maps for the Galleria area. The four star hotel range shown was $60-$80, so I bid $60. I was surprised that I won on the first bid. I always say I bid too much when that happens! The room rate on the hotel website is $199. Taxes and fees for Priceline were $16.85. I am very pleased to get this hotel. I used the PRICELINE link on this site.
  10. Initial bid was for $40, which was rejected. I added the Jonesboro zone and increased the bid to $45, which was also rejected. I then added the Stockbridge zone and increased my bid to $50. Taxes and fees were $15.22, making the total $65.22. The lowest rate on the hotel web site is $100 for a prepaid reservation. I have not stayed at this hotel before and am looking forward to it. I used the PRICELINE link on this site to start the bid.
  11. Had tried to get this hotel starting on 8/28 to attend a conference. No success all the way up to $135 per night. Removed the first night from the bid and had success at $75 on the first try - probably bid too much! As far as I know, this is the only 4 star in this zone. Nice hotel with very spacious and comfortable rooms
