I bid $60 on my first bid for 3.5 stars and Flagstaff. I did not win, so I tried again at $65.00 and won. Total price with fees and tax $80.31.
I used Betterbidding PRICELINE link to start my search.
First, let me say THANK YOU for this forum and tips. So easy to use and really gave me a great deal!
Yesterday (8/4/12) I booked a winning bid for a 3.5* hotel in downtown Oklahoma City - The Renaissance (Marriott). I had originally been looking for hotels in North Oklahoma City and started bidding this way:
$55 3* or better for North Oklahoma - rejected
$60 added Frontier City (does not have 3* hotels, so Free Bid Zone) - rejected
$65 added Downtown Oklahoma City - rejected
I actually then WAITED a day started at:
$70 3* or better for North Oklahoma - rejected
$75 3* added Downtown - ACCEPTED for 3.5* Renaissance Downtown
I was trying to get North Oklahoma (which only has 3* hotels) and I actually got a NICER hotel in a GREAT location in Bricktown. I'm happy with the results.
Priceline has rooms at the Renaissance starting at $159, so I certainly feel like I got a great deal! Saved over 52%. No complaints here.
Hope that helps!
