  1. Hi, I went ahead and booked the property. It turned out to be the Best Western Oceanfront Resort Miami Beach. Mixed reviews but the location appears excellent so we shall see. Thanks for your help.
  2. Thanks, I appreciate the advice because I am unfamiliar with the condo properties that hotwire offers. I will look a little further because I do have quite a bit of time. I will certainly use the savings barn link if I do decide to make that purchase.
  3. checking in on May 25th and checking out on May 28. Based on the fact that this rate is available over Memorial day weekend it seems pretty desireable.
  4. I was wondering if anyone was familiar with the condos that come up for Miami beach. The one that appears to be the best value is a 3* for $76 per night. The dates I am looking at are in May. The anemities listed are condo, suite, beachfront, complimentary breakfast, pools, laundry facility, and kitchenette. If this is not able to be identified please let me know if you have heard any positive or negative reviews about the Miami condos offered via hotwire. Thank you.
  5. First bid was $rejected and offered rebid of $101 Added north zone and bid $90 was also rejected Added south zone and bid $93 which was accepted. Looks like a good time and a fun trip to Amsterdam and London in time to return back to Tempe on 1/7 in time to go to the Chamionship game. I would also like to alert anyone walking around in Florida Gaytors apparel that they may not receive the warmest welcome. I would like to advise them for obvious reasons that it may not be the best idea to wear that apparel around. I will post the warning in the Arizona fourm as well if permitted. Thanks for keeping up the great site. Its appreciated. I also used the savings barn like to cop this hotel.
  6. Tried several other bids prior to this one being accepted. Bid up to $75 dollars using a different screen name in Kensington/Earls/Knighstbridge as well as Westminster and Soho...The reviews on trip advisor are fairly mixed but for $77 dollars each night for weekend nights in London I can expect or complain too much. I used SavingsBarn link as well. Thanks..Go Buckeyes :)
  7. I will try calling some of the hotels..I know that many require a two night stay on gameday weekends which is fine. I appreciate everyones help and will try priceline using the link however I doubt that I will have success. I will let you know if I do succeed. Worthington isnt that close to campus but if it is the only alternative available we can just take a cab to and from the game and bars. (and post game celebrations)
  8. Please let me know if anyone knows of any good rates at 3* or 4* hotels in Columbus for the nights of 11/17 and 11/18. The closer to OSU and high street the better. The decent hotels appear very crowded, probably because everyone else is in town for the same reason. To watch the Buckeyes easily defeat Michigan (again) and capture the Big Ten title on their way to the BCS championship game. Thanks playas
  9. Yes this was the 3* hotel in Cenutry City/Beverly Hills/Westwood that listed fitness center and high speed internet..Its the Courtyard by Marriott on Olympic Blvd.
  10. Hey I just wanted to let you know I ended up getting that hotel through the savings barn link..It is the courtyard by marriott LAX/Century city/Beverly Hills.
  11. I will do so and use the Savings Barn link, thanks for your help. Before I bid I was wondering if you happen to know what the hotel may be. Hotwire has a 3* in Beverly Hills/Westwood/Century City for $57 per night the only things listed are a fitness center and high speed internet. If you are aware of what this hotel may be please let me know. Thanks and go Bucks.
  12. I only managed to identify 1 of the three star hotels offered on hotwire, the second hotel located in Westwood/Beverly Hills/Century City I could not identify. The $100 dollar bid would be for a 4* since 3* hotels are available for less on hotwire. I feel that hotwire and priceline use similar factors when determining the star rating of a hotel.
  13. At this point I would like to stick fairly close if not less than $100. Hotwire has a 3* in Beverly Hills/Westwood/Century City for $57 per night and a 3* in Hollywood and West Hollywood for *88. The 3* in Hollywood appears that it may be the Ramada Inn Universal based on the High speed internet, laundry, complimentary breakfast and fitness center. Based on previous posts and the pinned hotwire list I could not figure out what the 3* Westwood/Beverly Hills/Century City may be however. The only things listed are a fitness center and High speed internet access. Thanks for your help.
  14. I am going to watch the Fighting Irish stomp all over the USC Trojans during Thanksgiving weekend and was wondering if anyone had any good ideas or bidding advice for a 3* or 4* hotel in Beverly Hills/Hollywood/West Hollywood or Westwood areas (closer to the Spearmint Rhino the better). If so please let me know, I appreciate it. Thanks and go Bucks.
  15. Bid 3* central Rome for $135 per night with no luck...Added Vatican City and bid $140 per night and got the hotel Mariano in central Rome...The hotel appears to be small but the location appears to be good....Total price with taxes and fees was $320.XX...Should be a good trip, but this time the Buckeyes will have beated Texas on 9/9 and will be ranked first everywhere on the way to another championship. Later kids.
  16. Hotel advertises only restaurant and business center..With taxes and fees total came to $81.34. Looks fine for the price. If anyone has stayed and knows any tips please let me know. Thanks
  17. Is it that no one has any information available or that they do not want to help me?
  18. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions as to a good bidding strategy or any good hotel rates for 9/2 to 9/4...I would like to stay on the strip and would prefer a four star hotel or the venetian. I would like to stay as close to $100 as possible but wouldnt mind going over if there is a good deal..Please let me know if anyone has any ideas. Thanks.
  19. Got the Le Centre Sheraton on Hotwire for $73 per night. Looks nice and reviews seem good for this hotel. I do however believe that the pinned hotwire list posted on this site is slightly outdated from what hotwire is currently showing for the Sheraton. The only anemities that this hotel had listed were restaurant, business center and fitness center. Neither spa or pool are currently listed for the Le Centre Sheraton.
  20. Began bidding MTW and then MTE at 100. Adding 10 dollars each time and using my two rebids for a four star hotel I finally scored with the Intercontinental Barclay. Reviews of this hotel so far seem to be good and intercontinental hotels tend to be pretty nice so hopefully this one will be as well.
  21. Hi, sorry it took me so long to reply I just wanted to let you know that I was unsuccessful using the strategy. I did use the savings barn link to bid and am going to keep using the strategy that you outlined because time permits. Thanks for your help and I will let you know if I get anything.
  22. Thanks for your prompt response. I am going to go to Washington DC for the two days that I dont stay in NYC so to be honest its really irrelevant whether the two nights are 2/10-2/11 or 2/12-2/13. The two nights that I dont stay in NYC we will just go to Washington. At this point Id like to keep the bidding around $150 a night if its possible. I dont mind bidding higher if necessary but was thinking that we have enough time that we wouldnt have to bid much higher yet. Please let me know if you have any suggestions. Thanks for your help. Yes, either stay will be for two nights and since it really doesnt matter which nights whenever we can get a better deal on a hotel we will just stay in New York. Thanks again
  23. I was wondering if anyone knew of any rates for NYC hotels for the nights of 2/10 and 2/11 or 2/12 and 2/13. I really dont care where in Manhattan we stay but would prefer something 3* or higher. If anyone is aware of any rates please advise me what they may be. Also if it is too early to get the best rate I do not mind waiting. Thanks for your help all.
  24. I just copped the Palmer House Hilton for $85 from 11/18-11/20...Not the best hotel but the location is not bad and the hotels on NMA/River North seem expensive for the weekend. Bid was just accepted today so hopefully some rooms remain if anyone is interested.
