  1. Tried on and off for a few weeks to get a room in The West Palm area and Jupiter area for under 60. Could not get anything at the 2.5 star level. I am sure the requests were off the chart in that area for the Art festival and the 300+ artist alone trying to get a room. Got a 3* in Stuart less than 10mi from Jupiter, 3* Best Western for 55 a night. Second try after initial 50 dollar bid. Was expecting to go much higher that is why I was going in 5 dollar increments. Probably could have been lower. Happy with my bid on this one for FL in early March 2013.
  2. Priceline wanted to discourage me to not bid so low. I was trying to get downtown for this price at a 3.5 star but after a few days of bidding I got nowhere. So I will take a 3 star for 45.00 a night.
  3. I am new to this and I did have a little time so I bit low, 75.00 and it was rejected. There are 4 areas to bid on in Suffolk County, Medford, Riverhead and a couple other in the area. I am now running out of time and I will need to book a room soon. Strategy advice if any?
  4. I am new and I need a room on Aug31-Sept2 Near The Hamptons on Long Island. Very limited in the amount of Hotels available. I have placed a bid and was rejected. I increase my zone and was rejected again. I understand that I need to wait 24hrs. After that 24 hrs can I change everything about my bid in that area? Is my only option from here to go up in price? I don't really understand strategy here in getting the best rate. Is the best way to go by rebidding and increasing the bid amount? If I don't get a winning bid as I approach the date I need is the amount of a winning bid only going to go higher? Thanks for the help!
