I did use the PRICELINE link to make the purchase. I have no idea what we did on the Chicago trip! Sorry about dropping that ball. I know we stayed somewhere but not sure if we didn't end up booking directly.
Also won the Galt on 6-2 for one night (6-16.) One bid $50. Don't know if I could have done better as it was my first bid. But I'm very happy with this buy as it works perfectly for this trip. It was a 3.5*. I used the Priceline BetterBidding link.
Can you provide the amenities for this property? There are none showing on list. Thanks!
Bid $47 for one night for a 3 star in the Airport zone. PriceLine countered with the special opportunity to buy the room for $58. I declined and rebid adding zones that didn't have a 3* hotel offered in them by $1 increments. My bid was accepted at $51.
(I did not use the PRICELINE link from this site as I was not thinking. )
Actually we are going to buy two rooms. One for the girls (there are 3 girls but accommodations for two will be fine) and one for the two parents. (Like Ikea, actually ate breakfast at one the last time we were in Chicago.) Thanks again for your help.
Thanks for the offer Aaron. Taking my teenage daughter and some of her friends for a concert at the Rosemont on Saturday night June 2nd. In a perfect world I'd like the Aloft which has a nice vibe and is nearby but I'm not stuck on one area. We will also be going to Arlington Racetrack on Saturday afternoon so we're very flexible in terms of where we end up. Your thoughts are appreciated. Breakfast included would be a nice perk. Thanks again.
Yes, this does happen from time to time... sometimes the user makes the first purchase and then when they go back for the second purchase the hotel is no longer shown... other times the same hotel is offered and they're able to pick-up the second room without any issues.
There are a variety of reasons for this scenario, the first and most obvious is that the hotel only has one room available at the deeply discounted HOTWIRE rate (and in this scneario a 2nd room may not be available when trying to make the 2nd purchase). Another scenario may be that a hotel's own research shows that guests who purchase multiple rooms are more likely to leave the hotel as a group and therefore less likely to use in-house services such as an onsite restaurant, internet, room service, movies, etc, etc... therefore they may offer deep discounts only on solo room bookings since there is an increased chance they will make additional revenue from other services (whereas offering deep discounts on multiple rooms they may feel they're giving the room away cheap and won't see any additional revenue).
If you'd like help trying to identify the property offered please let us know the details (star rating, city, zone, dates, room rate, amenities associated with the property) and we'll have a look.
Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
Let us know whatever you decide to do for this stay or if we can be of further help.

Curious if anyone has ever seen this situation. I'm looking for a couple of rooms in Chicago for one night June 2nd. When I put in just one room I get offered a 3.5* hotel with 100% Hotwire recommendations (I think there are only two reviews) this hotel is not yet identified on this site. The problem is that when I put in two rooms the hotel is not offered. Can anyone advise why the hotel has this strategy? I'm thinking of buying one room and then going back and trying to buy another one but the obvious risks are a concern. Thanks for any insights you can offer.

Doesn't appear to match any of the current 4.5* listed for the South Strip.
Thanks!
This hotel is currently listed as a 2*. This is a particularly crazy weekend for rooms in Chicago. First bid accepted and I did use this boards PRICELINE link.
Sorry, forgot to ask previously, what are the dates?
It came up on a search for December 6 - 9 @ $159 per night. Thx
Resort, Casino, Fitness, Pool, Restaurant, Business Center, Hi-Speed Internet, Golf, Tennis, Spa
It is a resort, so I'm thinking it is the JW Marriot. Thx
(Updated the New York post.)
Ended up using the Hotel Mela reservation, really nice hotel, better deal than anything I could find on HOTWIRE or Priceline at the time.
Searched the forum and checked the hotel list and can't find mention of a 4.5* West of Strip. It has golf listed as an amenity. Any ideas? Thanks!
I've got the 4* Hotel Mela @ $269 or the just opened 6 Columbus Circle for $302 (Both have REALLY small rooms and views are probably non existent) or the Embassy Suites in the financial district for $290 a night. All as back-ups. So i don't think I'm ready to bid $315 for an unknown. That is a really good price for te Affinia, very highly rated, thanks for the tip. If I bid for a HOTWIRE hotel I will certainly use the above mentioned link. Thanks again.
October 26th thru October 29th. Thanks
Restaurant, Business, High Speed Internet are the only amenities listed, can't find a match on the hotel list.
Thanks!
Good job, Well Done RumpRoast! We pulled the trigger and it was the Park Hyatt. Thanks for the assistance.
Hotwire is offering a 4.5* in the Beverly Hills, Westwood, Century City group. The amenities indicate it is either on a golf course or within walking distance of a golf course. Any ideas on what property is being offered?
