I jumped from 70 to 75, so it's possible this could have been won at 71. Otherwise, I feel it's a great deal for the fall in western mass.
The pre-cruise hotel rates are also pretty pricey for that date. Lowest three star is 128 dollars, in a not-so-nice property.
I was bidding for several combinations, three star in South beach areas and Airport, as well as 3.5 star in South beach. You're correct, I was bidding $100 for 4* and $70 for 3*. In the Airport, downtown, and South beach areas.
I think you're right, I'm just going to have to raise my budget for this date. Do you think I should book sooner or wait until later?
Thanks for the quick reply. Yes, i'm absolutely willing to stay near the airport. I've attempted to bid for a three star at the airport up to $70 with no luck, as well as a four star up to $100 with no luck. Basically, i'd be happy with a lower rate near the airport or a slightly higher rate in downtown/south beach. I'd also take a 4 star in the Coral Gables area, but was also unsuccessful for that with a 100 dollar bid.
I've been trying to locate the reason for the high fares as well. I think the minimum star rating I would accept is 3*.
Thanks again for the help, i'm kind of puzzled as to the extremely high fares.
I've noticed that prices seem unusually high for a thursday night stay. The cruise leaves out of the Port of Miami, so we'd prefer to stay somewhere nearby. Any suggestions? I think my max budget for a one night stay is $125, but i'd prefer to spend $100 or less.
Already attempted to use priceline to get the Hotel Westminster in Opera West (won fairly recently for $216) but was unsuccessful up to $225. The stay is a long ways away but I'll likely try every month until I get something decent. I'm willing to spend up to $220 and would like to be fairly central in at least a 4* property.
If anyone has any successful attempts with priceline for October 2013, please let me know.
For any of those interested in this property, I'm planning a stay in late October 2013 and attempted to bid for this hotel. Personally, I think it's too early for Priceline to release these rates but I gave it a shot anyways. As of today, I was rejected up to $225. I'll likely try again, month by month, until I get a comparable rate. Any thoughts?
Thanks for reading.

I was a bit bummed about the sort of indoor pool, but they do have a sun deck and a glass roof on the pool.
