  1. Extended Stay America San Jose - South - Edenvale San Jose South 6199 San Ignacio Avenue San Jose, California 95119 408-226-4499 I did not try Fremont-Newark zone, $35 may be the lowest price through Pricelinein the Silicon Valley on weekdays. My $38 offer was not accepted in Milpitas, San Jose, Sunnyvale and Santa Clara. This is my 4th consecutive week here.
  2. Thanks for the warning. You must be wearing popular size jeans. Hopefully the jean thief do not have an appetite for kharkis.

  4. Country Inn And Suites Sunnyvale Sunnyvale - Santa Clara 1300 Chesapeake Terrace Sunnyvale, California 94089 408-747-0999 Your Offer Price: $43.00 Total Charges*: $103.76 This October has been very predictable for this homeless consultant in the Silicon Valley. Weekends in the $43 Country Inn and Weekdays in the $35 ESA South San Jose. Cheaper than renting an unfurnished studio apartment.
  5. Extended Stay America San Jose - South - Edenvale San Jose South 6199 San Ignacio Avenue San Jose, California 95119 408-226-4499 I was unsuccessful with $36 for 2* in my preferred zones of San Jose, Milpitals and Santa Clara, and $35 was the lowest I could get accepted in south San Jose. This will be my second week here, I won't have to buy the 4-letter Wi-Fi password.
  6. Another well-known BetterBidding regular and I have been trading ESA passwords privately. Whoever checked into an ESA first buys the password and share with buddies. But that's just two of us. I'll include you if I notice your posting of an ESA/Homestead that I have the password.
  7. Country Inn And Suites Sunnyvale Sunnyvale - Santa Clara 1300 Chesapeake Terrace Sunnyvale, California 94089 408-747-0999 Check-In Date: Friday, October 19, 2007 Check-Out Date: Sunday, October 21, 2007 Your Offer Price: $43.00 Total Charges*: $103.83 Since I was targeting this hotel, I have not tried the Milpitas zone. $43 was the lowest I could get accepted to a 2.5* this weekend.
  8. Extended Stay America San Jose - South - Edenvale San Jose South 6199 San Ignacio Avenue San Jose, California 95119 408-226-4499 Check-In Date: Tuesday, October 16, 2007 Check-Out Date: Friday, October 19, 2007 Your Offer Price: $35.00 Total Charges*: $125.21 With Milpitas as the first choice, Sout SJ the seond, .. I started at $32 for 2* and upped the bid by $1 each time I added another zone. Finally got accepted at $35. None of my friends has been here this month, therefore, I have to dish out another $5 for the 4-letter wi-fi password. Since the first letter is always D, the rest costs $1.67 per letter.
  9. Esa San Jose-Milpitas 1000 Hillview Court Milpitas, California 95035 408-941-9977 Check-In Date: Sunday, October 7, 2007 Check-Out Date: Thursday, October 11, 2007 Your Offer Price: $33.00 Total Charges*: $155.64 I am very happy at this rate, The bid was accepted at the first try, it is conceivable lower bid may be accepted. Priceline accepted me at $31 earlier this year.
  10. Country Inn And Suites Sunnyvale Sunnyvale - Santa Clara 1300 Chesapeake Terrace Sunnyvale, California 94089 408-747-0999 Check-In Date: Friday, October 5, 2007 Check-Out Date: Sunday, October 7, 2007 It is almost official that $43 is the lowest bid Country Inn would accept for weekends. It is time to asked for a higher per-diem from my job shop.
  11. Esa San Jose-Milpitas Milpitas 1000 Hillview Court Milpitas, California 95035 408-941-9977 Check-In Date: Monday, October 1, 2007 Check-Out Date: Friday, October 5, 2007 Since my whereabout is predictable, I usually looking for a hotel about 2 weeks in advance. I was not very successful with under $35 in the Silicon Valley during the two months. Therefore, It was a pleasant surprise that the $34 offer was accepted on the first try.
  12. Colfax and I had an on-line discussion about 3 months ago on which is the best ESA around Milpitas and Fremont. Now I have a real winner, Homestead Fremont. I generally prefer ESA over Homestead, becasue Homesteads generally have smaller room and lack a desk. This Homestead has interior corridors, rooms are wider and longer, most are equipped with a king bed and a desk with adequate spare space. I wish I can develop a stratege of targeting this Homestead, and other 2* winners in this zone such as TownePlace and ESD. :)
  13. Esa San Jose-Milpitas Milpitas 1000 Hillview Court Milpitas, California 95035 408-941-9977 Check-In Date: Tuesday, September 25, 2007 Check-Out Date: Thursday, September 27, 2007 Your Offer Price: $36.00 Subtotal: $72.00 Taxes and Service Fees: $15.87 Total Charges*: $87.87 I have been trying up to $35 without success for several days. So $36 is the bottom price for the time being.
  14. Extended Stay Deluxe San Jose - South - Edenvale San Jose South 6189 San Ignacio Avenue San Jose, California 95119 408-229-9188 Check-In Date: Wednesday, September 19, 2007 Check-Out Date: Friday, September 21, 2007 Your Offer Price: $40.00 Subtotal: $80.00 Taxes and Service Fees: $16.88 Total Charges*: $96.88 My colleague got accepted to this ESD quiet often at $40 on same day bids. I started at $38 and was accepted at $40. Priceline used to irrationally rate this ESD 1* while the ESA next door was rated 2*. They are now both 2*. I was willing to pay $40 for ESD but I was running risk of being accepted to ESA when I submiited this bid.
  15. Homestead Fremont Newark - Fremont 46080 Fremont Blvd Fremont, California 94538 510-353-1664 Check-In Date: Monday, September 17, 2007 Check-Out Date: Wednesday, September 19, 2007 Your Offer Price: $35.00 Subtotal: $70.00 Taxes and Service Fees: $15.61 Total Charges*: $85.61 This is the second consecutive week I am accepted to this Homestead. 17. Homestead Fremont 46080 Fremont Blvd Fremont, California 94538 510-353-1664 Check-In Date: Tuesday, September 11, 2007 Check-Out Date: Thursday, September 13, 2007 Your Offer Price: $40.00 Subtotal: $80.00 Taxes and Service Fees: $16.97 Total Charges*: $96.97 My bids up to $46 for 2.5* were not accepted in the Santa Clara County and Fremont. My bids up to $38 for 2* were not accepted in the Santa Clara County. This one came up when I added Newark-Fremont and increased to $40. I was not sucessful yesterday trying in the Newark-Fremont zone up to $34 for 2*. I was hoping for Extended Stay Deluxe when I increased to $40, but I am also grateful that I am not going to Days Inn Fremont.
  18. Beverly Heritage Hotel 1820 Barber Lane Milpitas, California 95035 408-943-9080 Check-In Date: Thursday, September 13, 2007 Check-Out Date: Monday, September 17, 2007 Your Offer Price: $42.00 Subtotal: $168.00 Taxes and Service Fees: $28.24 Total Charges*: $196.24 I have failed to be accepted at Country Inn at $42 two weekends in a row, looks like BH is my weekend home for September 2007.
  19. I added 9/10 to my existing priceilne reservation thru a separate bidding. My $40 for 2.5* in the Fremont-Neward zone for 9/10 was not accepted, I was targeting Courtyard or Residence Inn (Newark). The $42 for 2.5* was accepted when I added Milpitas. One less night of packing for me.
  20. It's always a pleasure to meet ZBENYE in person. He has a wealth of travel knowledge to share with friends. The dinning room and Courtyard at Country Inn are nice places to mingle at breakfast time.
  21. Colfax, you've just let the cats out of the bag. That styrofoam clam shell usually feeds me for 2 nites when I stay at ESA, if I do not get the big bowl of noodle for $5 at New Tung Kee at Milpitas Town Center. Here is another secret. At Shen-Kee Bakery, you can buy any 2 Taiwanese style stuffed rolls for $1.25 after 830 pm. There are about 20 varieties to choose from. Regularly at $0.95 to $1.50 apiece. Yummy! That's what I mean by "No Breakfast, No Problem."
  22. Beverly Heritage Hotel 1820 Barber Lane Milpitas, California 95035 408-943-9080 Check-In Date: Friday, September 7, 2007 Check-Out Date: Monday, September 10, 2007 Your Offer Price: $42.00 Subtotal: $126.00 Taxes and Service Fees: $22.78 Total Charges*: $148.78 I am out of luck with my regular weekend dig, Country Inn. After $40 for 2.5* failed in Sunnyvale and Milpitas zones, I upped $1 each time added a zone. $42 is lowest for this weekend. This is the highest I've ever paid for weekend 2.5* in San Jose. I used to be accepted at $36 before Beverly completed the renovation. Yes, I've been spoiled.

But $33 for 2* was accepted on the first try.
  24. Esa San Jose-Milpitas 1000 Hillview Court Milpitas, California 95035 408-941-9977 Check-In Date: Tuesday, August 28, 2007 Check-Out Date: Wednesday, August 29, 2007 Your Offer Price: $34.00 Total Charges*: $45.03 My offer of $45 for 2.5* was not accepted in many zone. 25. "I am not hungary." and "I need to go to work." were my excuse for not go to 12th floor for free breakfast. Last night, I held up the elevator for a lady and then politely asked her "what floor ?" She said "I'm on the 12th floor, I'll use my card to get there." That's when I noticed "12 Club Floor" on the wall. There was nice dark roast coffe and apples in the lobby, I took some in case I become hungary at work.
