I've decided to this post past win but unfortunately, at that time I wasn't using betterbidding to access Hotwire.
At that time, it was a Sheraton (changed to Hilton since then). Nicely located if you want to go to NYC without paying the high hotel rates of NYC. This hotel has a shuttle to Secaucus Junction where you can hop on a train to NY Penn Station.

Thanks for the tips! I'll keep you updated with my results and will use the provided links.
Hope you enjoyed your stay and found it to be a good value for the price paid.
We did! We really liked this hotel and only have good things to say about it. The only negative thing was that we got a room with a view on a grassy mound, but hey, we were there for Boston and not the view from the hotel! :P
Thanks for the reply.
Yes, the purpose of this stay is a less expensive alternative to NYC.
We will have a car. Depending on which hotel we get, we plan to go to Secaucus Junction or Newark Penn Station and hop on a train/subway to NYC.

Thank you in advance!
I apologize for not replying earlier to this thread, I haven't been on this site for a (long) while.
To close this thread, I would like to say that for this trip we booked through Priceline using the PRICELINE EXPRESS Deals and we got the Burlington Marriott (3.5*) for 67$/night for two nights. (2012-07-24 to 26)
I gave it a try tonite (using the link on this page) with no success at 50$ and 55$ (adding rebid zone) in Woburn and 60$ and 65$ (adding rebid zone) in Braintree-Quincy. At what level do you think I should go by lower increments than 5$ in the next biddings?
I'm going camping for a week, so no computer! :lol:Is there a reason you're waiting to bid?
I know but from seeing previous results in the Braintree-Quincy area I figured that I could try 3.5* for under 100$. If no success, I'll settle for the cheapest 3* in that area.Yes, but earlier you stated that you weren't willing to pay more for a 3.5* vs. a 3* and that your goal was the least expensive 3* or better for this trip:
Thanks for the tips. I'll use them when it'll be time to book (using the links of course ;)).
Only one question for now. I checked the areas in Boston Metro-South (I used the link on this board) and was wondering if I was aiming for a 3.5* in that area (fingers crossed for the Marriott Quincy!)I would get a re-bid zone (Stoughton-Rockland)?
My goal is to get the least expensive 3* or better, in either region.
If you think that the best deal would be in Boston Metro South, I'll go for that. It doesn't matter much to me as long as I get the best deal possible!
Thanks!
Hi,
I'll be going to Boston from 08/24 to 08/26. I've never used Priceline to bid for hotels so I need a little help to prepare for my upcoming bids.
I'm looking for a hotel outside Boston. I'm aiming at something 3* or more under 100$ in the Woburn-Wakefield area for Boston North Shore or Braintree-Quincy for Boston Metro South. My first choice is Woburn-Wakefield (would love to get Sheraton Colonial!!). If I don't get it in that area I'll try with Boston Metro South . My backup plan is to get a room at the Hilton in Woburn for ±100$.
If you need more info let me know!
Thanks for your help!

Really happy with this win since pretty much everything else is quite expensive around Boston. I've been to this hotel once a few years ago and liked it.
