  1. I bid and won 7 hotel nights in June at the Southpoint Hotel and Casino. This was back in January when I found out about a family function and wanted to get the hotel figured out early. When I bid, I made decisions based upon possible hotels in area and knowing resort fees were not charged for the specific hotels. Since then (on March 1st, to be exact), the hotel has instituted a $14/day resort fee. Do you think I have a case to the hotel or to the credit card company to have the fee waived or refunded since there was no indication of such fee when I won the bid for the rooms? Is there any precedent on this as a search has not brought any useful information? Since 7 nights = $98 in fees, it may be worth it to give it a fight. Thanks in advance for your thoughts.
  2. I've bid 55-70 on 3* in Millennium Park, Loop & Grant Park Area adding North River, Lincoln Park then Midway North, Hyde Park and Franklin Park with free rebids. This is on all three date ranges of 8/7 to 8/10, 8/10 to 8/12 and 8/12 to 8/14. Hotwire has a 3* for $76 on 8/7 to 8/10. Should I go for that if it comes up in future searches?
  3. I am planning to stay in Chicago for a week from 8/7 to 8/14. I would like to get at least a three star hotel in the Millenium Park, North Michigan Ave or Lincoln Park areas at the best price. I am willing to change hotels mid-trip a couple of times if breaking up the dates will help get a better deal (i.e. weekdays vs. weekends). So far, I've bid for 8/7 to 8/10 and 8/10 to 8/12 separately hoping to get a better rate. Any suggestions?
