Initially looking for a 3* hotel in the Disneyland area. Bid $51-rejected. Added Seal Beach and bid $55-rejected. Added Anaheim Hills and bid $58-rejected. Added Mission Viejo and bid $61-rejected. Normally a 3* Disneyland area hotel can be had for less than $61, but this was not the case. Apparently there is a big Cheer/Dance convention in town. I then selected an adjacent area with nice hotels and decided to go up to 4* in the Irvine area. Bid $65 and got the Westin Hotel, next to South Coast Plaza. At least my wife will be happy!

Looking for a decent hotel in the North County on 3/3/06 in hopes of getting the Doubletree in Del Mar over the Hilton or Marriott (just to avoid paid parking). Bid $42 for a 3* in Del Mar and was rejected. Bid $45, and added Coronado (no 3* hotels in Coronado, just 4*) and was rejected. Bid $48, and added Sorrento Mesa (again, no 3* hotels) and was rejected. Bid $51, and added Carlsbad (only one 3* hotel, the Grand Pacific Palisades, which I would have been perfectly happy with also.....and finally got the Doubletree!

Looked first at Hotwire and noticed the Compacts thru Standard cars were $18.95. So I bid $18 on a standard car on Priceline and got it on the first try.

Bid $42 for a 4* in the Vancouver area and was rejected. Then bid $48 and added another area that did not have any known 4* hotels (Delta, I think)....and got it! :) :) :D :o :)
