Hi, So I posted looking at Hotwire, and decided that the hotel I found was too risky, so I'm switching to Priceline. I read the information on re-bidding (which is brilliant, by the way!) but before I do it, I want to make sure I do it right! I need to be in the Strip Vicinity South- area 9. 4* or 5* is fine. The dates are 7/13-7/15. So my first bid was in that area with $60 a night bid for a 5*, which was rejected (not surprisingly but figured it was worth a shot). So now I can add- area 1 (Boulder Strip- highest star level is 3), area 3 (Henderson- highest star level is 3), area 11 (NW Las Vegas- highest star level is 3.5), area 14 (Nellis - Las Vegas Speedway- highest star level is 3), area 15 (Summerlin- highest star level is 3.5), while slowly upping my bid amount each time. Is this correct? I read some things about resorts not being ranked by the star system and thus there is the potential to end up in a resort because it is considered higher than the star levels listed for that area. I think I read something about Summerlin? Is that a place to avoid? Are the others safe, or are there any others that I need to be sure not to add when rebidding? I didn't see the "resort" designation on any of the others except Summerlin, but... I'm a little bit nervous and need to be reassured. Oh, and if anybody has any ideas on what a good price point would be, I'm open to suggestions. We are definitely wanting to get something for under $100 a night though, and we are hoping to have a total of under $200 for both nights *including* taxes, resort fees, or any possible parking fees. If it hits $200 even that's fine, but we really can't spend anything over that total (like I said, including the charges that will occur at the hotel). Thanks so much for the help! Can't believe I didn't discover this site before now. And I used the links above to do my searches. =) ~Cytherea
