  1. Bid up to $170 for 4* Bid up to $135 for 3.5* bid up to $150 for Hoboken 4* Wow, what is going on ???? I'm going to just book something on hotwire, rather break my wallet than be homeless
  2. Just a question, why do you do CPS on a separate process?
  3. I saw these amenities: Restaurant, Fitness, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, Blind Accessible, Deaf Accessible, Travel Accessible, Room Accessible, Bathroom Accessible, Roll-in Shower Just as shown on our hotel list
  4. Using HOTWIRE, I booked The Roosevelt from 7/7 to 7/10 for $117 per night. Now I have to try to get 7/10 to 7/13!
  5. Yeah, I'll split bids. I have the strategy down for 4*, but I don't know how to do it for 3.5*, can you advise?
  6. Yeah, I see other people aren't getting 4* at $150. Should I shoot for 3*-3.5*? I also tried Hoboken using the other forum's info, I couldn't get 4* Hoboken for up to $105 bidding.
  7. Sorry I should have copy and pasted it, I went off memory, yeah MSG Queensboro Bridge and ESB are also fine. Just not UWS.
  8. Every zone in Manhattan except Harlem and Upper West Side Downtown SOHO Hell's Kitchen MTE MTW Lower East Side Chelsea Madison Square Garden Central Park South and anything else I may be forgetting. Thank you so much for bearing with me.
  9. Please give me the strategy for 4* in the city, and 3.5* in the city, without the undesirable hotel that is 15min away from the subway and without the Hudson.
  10. Ok let me give some more options, so I've decided 7/7-7/12 I will be there, but I can extend and shorten it, so sometime flexible, but I definitely want to go 7/7. I'm flying out from NYC to Berlin sometime near 7/12 but want at least 5 days there as I'm meeting up with the girlfriend :) But let me get to the point. I've been to New York 3 times already, 3 weeks at a time everytime, I'm familiar with the city. I'm not even so fond of staying in Time Square as it is so touristy but it would be very nice to be in the city and close to everything. I am starting to be a little open to staying in Jersey or Brooklyn or Astoria if the hotel is nice and the transportation options are widely available. Regardless, I'll still try to do a 3.5*-4* for max $110, I'll split the dates to see if I can get a deal, but I'm guessing you're probably right, I'm really low-balling. It just kills me to spend so much on a hotel when I will be going back to Germany soon and for the same amount of money, I can live like a KING for $75 a night. But I know, it's new york.
  11. Hey, not referring to the same dates, I just saw other posts on the board and people had 3.5* and 4* hotels for $95-$110 For example, look at 7/19. I heard July is really a slow season but maybe it's because these people bid for just one day and maybe because I'm trying to do 5 consecutive days. Should I try to see what happens if I split it up in 3 days and 2 days?
  12. I saw some people getting hotels for $95-$100, you think I have no chance doing the same because of the multiple days I'm staying?
  13. Wow thanks so much for the info, so I'll do up to $120 for a 4*, are they all good unlike the 3* hotels you outlined? The 15min walk would be somewhat unacceptable, if I'm paying so much to stay in Manhattan, I'd prefer to be close to everything, subway included; otherwise, I'd rather be next to a subway in Williamsburg instead of 15 min away from a subway ! As far as prices, I was thinking up to $120 for a 4* and up to $100 for a 3.5* (and not including MTE and CPS then); what do you think of all this?
  14. Jul 7-Jul 14 4* Tried $75-$95, $5 increments, hit all bid zones on manhattan except Upper West Side; maybe it's too much and I should try 3.5*
  15. Been to New York a few times, and stayed at someone's place using AirBnb. I will be there from 7/10 to 7/16, about a week. Looking to get a good deal for MAX $120 a night. Any luck? Heard July is a slow season.
