  1. I booked the Hotwire for $138, two double beds. It was in fact the Sheraton Times Square. With fees about $176 per night. Thanks for your help. First time on HOTWIRE for me.
  2. Thanks. I see on PRICELINE EXPRESS Deal 4.5* Midtown East $133. (i realize that is outside my star parameter, but it just popped up on the screen). Bed Choice Business Center Fitness Center Non Smoking Restaurant Any guess as to what it might be? I ask because of the bed choice option. Thank you for your thoughts.
  3. That is great help. Thanks. Although, I am not sure what you mean "for 3 (1A, 2C)" when searching on Hotwire. I think I see the possible Sheraton, but not the other. How much, do you know, are the resort fees, typically? I see 4-star Hotel in Midtown East area $135 Complimentary Free Internet Amenities Business center Fitness center Restaurant(s) Spa services
  4. My two teenage sons (13 and 15) will be in NYC from July 3 - July 8. I am looking for some suggestions for areas/properties to stay. We don't need more than 3.5 * quality and the location is not tremendously important. We will be going to see the Mets and the Yanks. There will be three of us, and I understand that Priceline is not as flexible with bed options in NYC as we have found most other places to be, so I would I think rely more on Hotwire looking for space for three than chance getting a place with only one bed and it not be changeable. I would love to stay in the $150 range per night, but don't know if that is reasonable. I guess I am looking for some help regarding where the better values can be had. Thanks
  5. Thanks -- do you have any suggestions for the rest of the week which will be in NYC. Don't really have a preference for area, just need to sleep three, won't be in the rooms much longer than sleeping times. 7/3 - 7/8. Will be going to Yankee and Mets games. Will not have or need a vehicle.
  6. Well, I tried name your price and got the Embassy Suites -- City Center for $90 for June 30 - July 3, 2018. So, maybe should have gone for the PRICELINE EXPRESS deal with the Priceline Coupon, but not too much more. '' Thanks Now just have to figure out NYC for the rest of the week.
  7. Sorry for the delay in responding, we were unsuccessful in finding a room within our range at the time on PRICELINE in Los Angeles, so we stayed in a room in Universal City that we had booked as a backup. It worked well as the kids ending up enjoying a day at Universal studios. Since our first game was in Anahiem, we stayed there on Saturday night, but honestly can't remember where. I believe it was a Hilton or a Hyatt. We then drove up to Universal City Sunday night and Monday night. We left for San Diego Tuesday morning. The baseball team schedules would not allow to start with the Dodgers as they were not in town until Monday and the Angels left town on Sunday. I believe that was our first trip trying to use PRICELINE and really did not understand how to go about it or how to properly participate here.
  8. Sorry -- we were not successful on Priceline for that LA trip and stayed in a room booked as a backup in Universal City. Our budget is typically $100 per night, before the fees but understand that might have to expand in different markets. I would not want to pay more than $150 per night, in Philadelphia. So far, we have always been able to get either two beds or a king and add a rollaway at checkin on Priceline, but honestly we travel one week a year, so I don't know if trends are changing.
  9. We will be heading to Philadelphia this summer, primarily for a Phillies game, but to see the sites as well. Where are the best areas to look for hotels -- my kids are 13 and 15? Is it too early to be looking, and are there are any great deals now in Express Deals or elsewhere. We don't need anything super fancy, just clean and safe really. Location is more important. We typically search for 3.0 - 4 on Priceline. Thanks for your thoughts.
  10. Thanks for your help. I guess what I am asking is: what would people recommend. Ideally, I would like to pick a spot and stay there for all three nights and not have to move. But, if the wisdom is that we will spend more time in traffic going back and forth because the locations, then we can certainly move places. We will arrive on Saturday 7/28 -- see the Angels Sunday afternoon and the Dodgers Monday night, and probably head to San Diego on Tuesday. I am really open to whatever makes the most sense, and typically to me, that means one hotel, although again, I am really totally clueless on this one. Thanks.
  11. Dates are 7/28/ - 7/31 in Los Angeles. I would imagine a 3.5 - 4 star if that can be had for $75/night. Although I would spend a bit more for convenience. I am on the east coast and have no concept of the area. We are on a baseball trek, hitting major league parks. We will have some time between games but this LA/Anaheim portion of the trip is more baseball than sightseeing. My kids are 7 and 9, so whatever else we do, it must be kid friendly or eductional, and unavailable at home. thanks.
  12. I will be in the Los Angeles area at the end of July to take my kids to a Dodgers game and then to an Angels game. We are coming from the east coast and have no idea where to begin to look for a place to stay. Nor do I have any idea when is the best time to start trying to book something. We will be there for games Sunday and Monday and then head down to San Diego on either Tuesday or Wednesday, so it is likely a three night stay Saturday - Tuesday (maybe thru Wednesday). Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
