  1. We are flying into Miami International on the 17th of March, and then hopping a plane over to Jamaica the next morning and need a reasonably priced hotel by the airport. Does anyone know what the rebid zones are for a 3, 3 1/2, or 4 star near Miami International? FYI....we are a family of 4 with 2 kids. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Clem

Hotel information: Sheraton Tampa Riverwalk Hotel 3.5* Total with all taxes: $118.42 Thanks to everyone for your help!!!! Now I just need to find a rental car that I can pick up near the Pier and drop off at the airport 3 days later!
  4. Thereuare, my goal would be to get the best 3* or better for the least amount of money. So I do all of the downtown zones? Clem
  5. sorry...star rating: 3 * or higher....is it possible to think I could get each room for under $100 each? Clem
  6. I need 2 rooms for June 18th....we cruise out the next afternoon. So my bid zone is just downtown? I'd like to grab 2 rooms for $200 or less. Clem
  7. We are going on Carnival's Inspiration out of Tampa in June, and I would like to Priceline a couple of rooms near the port, but I'm not sure which areas to bid on that are near the port where Carnival goes out of...can anyone help? Thanks in advance! Clem
  8. UPDATE: I ended up getting 2 rooms on my 3rd bid for $55 each at the Hyatt Regency Miami, Downtown! Thanks for all of your help...as always, this board is the BEST! Clem
  9. I am only seeing TWO zones without a 4 star rating: Miami Lake and Southwest Miami.....am I missing something? Clem
  10. I'd like to stay under $100, anything closer to $50 would be better! Clem
  11. I just booked a cruise out of Miami on Nov. 8th, and am looking to get a pre-cruise hotel the night before. I just want to make sure I'm bidding on the correct zone because I am not familiar with Miami and don't know where the ports are in location to the maps for bidding. Can anyone help? Also, where would you start the bidding? I'm thinking 4* (not sure about anything less, so any advice would be appreciated!), maybe throwing out a bid around $55? Thanks in advance for any help! Clem
  12. I have been trying to get a car on Priceline through the "name your price" option, and instead of getting a "rejection", I am getting a message saying that Priceline couldn't find any cars available, but below are some "low priced options" (for the same type of car!). I tried redoing my bid trying a different type of car, and got the same thing. BTW I am looking for Denver airport, 7/25-8/4. I have used Priceline quite a bit, but have never gotten this message before...it's always a yes, or a no. Has Priceline recently changed it's practices? Clem
  13. Our stay was GREAT! We got the 2 rooms right next to each other on the 6th floor, and we even checked in early! PLUS, they had complimentary back massages from 4-9 which we took full advantage of. The pool was awesome and we were the only ones in it most of the time. It was about 7-8 minutes away from MOA, but that was no big deal as it was easy to get around. We ate at the mall for all meals, so I cannot comment on the quality of the restaurants nearby, but there were several. Overall, it was the perfect deal for a quick trip. Clem
  14. Crown Plaza Bloomington Airport/MOA 5401 Green Valley Drive Bloomington, Mn
  15. I picked up the Crown Plaza this morning for $48/night using the new PRICELINE link posted here. I'm not sure if using it helped, but I got accepted on my first try today. It isn't the closest to the mall, but at this price I'm not complaining! Clem
  16. So it's 24 hours from my LAST rejected bid, even though the message said 24 hours from my ORIGINAL bid? Clem
  17. I bid yesterday morning at 8:30 for a MOA hotel for next Wed-Fri. My first bid was $51 for a 4* in the MOA zone....rejected. Then at 3:45 yesterday, I decided to change to 3* and put in a bid for $41......rejected again. Then this morning at 8:45, I thought I could bid again because it said I had to wait 24 hours from original bid, so I bid $45/3*..........it wouldn't process my bid because it said it was a duplicate bid and that I needed to wait 24 hours from original bid...........I did! So, thinking maybe I was just too early, I tried again at 10 and got the same message. Any thoughts as to why I can't get back in? And how long will I have to wait to bid again? Any suggestions on bids? We want 2 rooms as close to the mall as we can get, with a pool. Thanks in advance for any advice anyone might have! Clem
  18. Sorry! It is a 3*: Park Plaza Bloomington 3/28-3/31 2 rooms $48 per room AND I called them and am confirmed for adjoining rooms, non-smoking (we're taking the kids). Amenities include: Airport Shuttle Pool High Speed internet Fitness Center Restaurants Clem
  19. I picked up a 3* in Bloomington for $48/night - 2 rooms over on HOTWIRE. I'm still feeling like I got a great deal! Clem
  20. I think so. I want to be as close to the mall as possible. I'll keep you posted. Clem
  21. I understand re-bid zones. I was just wondering if anyone knew if there were any adjacent zones without 3* that I could add to essentially bid the same zone again. I just upped my bid to $42 for a 3* and got rejected again. I will keep trying. Clem
  22. I am looking to pick up 2 rooms at a 3* hotel near the Mall of America for Spring Break and was rejected at $40 yesterday. I am looking for 3/28-3/31. Does anyone know if there are any rebid zones that I could add? Or should I consider a 2 1/2*? I just really wanted to get a pool for the kids and I'm not sure all 2 1/2* places have one. Any help would be appreciated! Clem
  23. Just wanted to let people know that I got the Caribe Hilton in San Juan for a pre-cruise night on Friday, 2/23/07 for $75. I used the Savingsbarn.com link, and got it on my first try. I had been trying for several weeks and kept getting rejected - I had bid up to $85. Does anyone know if this is an ok place to stay? - it was under the resort category, so I hope so! Last year I got the Marriot San Juan for quite a bit more, and I wonder how the Caribe compares. Clem
  24. I just picked up a mid-size for your exact same dates on Priceline for $14/day (returning at 2 p.m. on Monday). Total with fees/taxes comes to $86.07. I probably bid too high as well! Oh well - much cheaper than anything I was quoted over the phone! Enjoy your trip - we're heading to Steamboat Springs to see the Aspens changing color. Clem
