  1. Free Parking, Free Breakfast, Free Internet, Pet Friendly, Airport Shuttle, Fitness Center, Pool, Laundry, Access. for deaf, Access. path of travel, Access. BR, In room accessibility, Wheelchair access, HC parking, Roll in shower. 95% customer satisfaction. 4.5 on tripadvisor.
  2. This was a last minute (same day) getaway. Figured it had to be the Beach Club as I don't think there are other 4 stars in the area. About a $30 saving over other published rates. Rates are high this time of year. Stayed there previously and its nice. Amenities listed were only Indoor Pool, Free Parking and Free Internet. Used the HOTWIRE link to book. Cheers.
  3. Total with taxes/fees $276. Failed bid on fullsize at $11. Used the link. Cheers.
  4. Icons were Resort, casino, restaurant, pool, fitness, Business center, golf. No spa icon. Tripadvisor 4/5. Reviews are good since the remodel so happy it was the Tropicana as Thereuare speculated in a recent post. Remembered to use the HOTWIRE link this time. Cheers.
  5. 2 adults, 1 child. Icons: Smoke Free, Bus Center, Restaurant. I believe this was previously reported as a 3 star. Was hoping this was the property so very happy with the deal. Cheers.
  6. Bidding in USE (failed at 130) and Soma (failed at 135). Pretty sure HOTWIRE has this hotel at 159 over the same period so pretty happy with the price for a longish stay and the hotel. Used the PRICELINE link. Thanks for the great site!
  7. Thereuare. Thanks for the usual sage advice. I emailed Hotwire customer support asking specifically about a family of five with an infant at an all inclusive. I was advised that the number of adults and children specified will determine the "type of room you receive" from the hotel and that a crib can be requested (from the hotel) once the reservation is complete. I was advised cribs were "based on availability". I asked specifically about extra charges in my email. This was not mentioned in the reply. Not sure what we're doing with this vacation yet. I hesitated and lost the seat sale for the above dates and am just waiting for another cheap fare, but thought this info might be useful for someone else. My advice to anyone in a similar cicumstance would be to get this in writing as thereuare suggested. All inclusive pricing seems pretty sensitive to numbers (even babes) on most hotel websites. Also carry a portable crib. Perhaps this string should be moved to the general info board under a different heading- "Hotwire family of five" or something. I'll start a new post if we use Hotwire when our plans firm up. Thanks again.
  8. Cheers. I just perused Hotwire for a trip to Cancun, check-in Feb20, check-out Feb27. When I search for 2 adults and 2 children I get a hit for what I'm pretty sure is Dreams. I'd love to stay there. Problem is we also have an infant (15 mo). Of course Hotwire won't accept info for <2y.o. When I checked Dreams website it doesn't show availability for 2 adults, 2kids, and an infant which makes me a tad nervous. Anyone know the Hotwire policy re families of five with infants in general or have knowledge of how this might play out at a Mexican all inclusive? Thanks.
  9. Bid through Savingsbarn. Rejected at $80-130. Offers to add $22 at $135 and $140. There is a conference at the hotel so occupancy is high. Website price is CAD229 and the best internet rate I could find is CAD200. Still a decent savings. Thanks to this website I was able to bid with reasonable confidence. Cheers.
  10. Thanks Thereuare. Based on your advice I decided to abandon the 4* bidding for a while. Thought I'd roll the dice one more time @ 3* (had previously bid to $60). Lo and behold I got the Hilton Metrotown @ $66! This is now a 3*, not an upgrade, which raises the interesting question of what the 4* could possibly be in this zone. Didn't see anything on Tripadvisor, Expedia, nor Hotels.com that looks like a possibility. In any event I'm right chuffed about the property and the price. Thanks again for the help and forum. $66 was my only bid today. Used the SavingsBarn link as usual.
  11. I'm looking for a one night stay in the Vancouver area July 14(Friday). I'd prefer 4* in Burnaby where I'm guessing the only property is the Hilton Metrotown, although I've seen the Hilton most recently listed @ 3* on a less hospitable forum. Website prices for the Hilton (including Priceline's) are around US$136. I've bid up to $91 in both Burnaby and Van without success. I wouldn't want to go any higher in Van as I really don't want to be downtown on this stay. I guess I'd go higher ($110) in Burnaby if the liklihood of getting the Hilton is high. Anybody know much about the 3* hotels in Burnaby? Should I lower to 3* or book a back-up and wait to see if prices drop? Love this board. You guys do a great job. Thanks.
  12. Very pleased to see the Coast pop up rather than the Holiday Inn (hopefully its been demoted). Used the Savings Barn link. Last failed bid 2 days ago @ $58 with offer to increase $15. Best website price CAD105. Also failed @ the 4* level to $79 (offer to increase by $22). Thanks to the experts on this forum for teaching me the ropes. I think I feel the pull of addiction...
  13. It is definitely low season here on the soggy island. The American Thanksgiving holiday affects us very little so I would bid at the lower end of the range. Start early as you don't have the luxury of a bunch of free rebid zones. Good luck
