  1. You might want to change the subject line from "5*". I'm from Shreveport and I can tell you there aren't any 5* hotels up there. LOL!
  2. Country Inn and Suites overbooked one time when I was staying there too, but they put me in the Drury Inn.
  3. Saw a 2-star on PRICELINE EXPRESS for 97. Bid 80, added another zone, bid 87, added another zone, bid 90 and finally won. Used the PRICELINE link on this site.
  4. Thanks. Not sure what I'll do yet. But I'll use the links here and post a win if I book something.
  5. Free breakfast Free Internet in room Business Center Fitness Center Guest rating 7.0 Comfort Inn & Suites? Thanks.
  6. Any idea which hotel is the 2-star for $97 in New Orleans downtown on Priceline Express deals for 10/18-10/19?
  7. I usually see a deal on Priceline Express and then bid the Name Your Own Price feature for $10 less per day. It usually works. (I don't know if it's the same hotel as the one on Priceline Express, but I don't care!)
  8. My guess is the Marriot, which would be a great location. It looks like it could also be the Westin. The Westin isn't a bad location, especially if you are going to the riverfront and/or the casino. NOTE: I do not represent this website. I'm just a user like you, giving his best guess!
  9. The garages are just 2-3 blocks toward Canal street from the Hyatt. The one with the big blinking sign is a 24 hour operation. I have parked overnight there several times, without incident. Don't get ripped off on parking by the hotel! LOL! P. S. Corner of O'Keefe and Common.
  10. That's a really nice hotel. Yes, within a short cab ride to everything. It's a fairly long walk to most things, though. If you have a car, park in one of the $15 parking garages on O'Keefe, a few blocks from Canal Street. The Hyatt probably charges $25-35.
  11. AveryHay, if you don't mind walking a ways you can park for $15 a day in at least 2 garages on O'Keefe Street.
  12. Good location. They're going to charge you $9.95 for a "resort" fee. I talked my way out of it last time, so you might give it a try.
  13. Maybe they've gone downhill since I was there. I stayed there about 10 years ago and liked it.
  14. This is one of my favorite hotels. I bid 63 and didn't get it. Tried 65 and did. It also told me I could extend the stay for the same price, but didn't want to. Used the PRICELINE link on this site.
  15. It appears to be the Sheraton - see the topic entitled "4* New Orleans (French Quarter) Sheraton".
  16. Exactly, thereuare. He can also take the St. Charles streetcar at any time of the day if that goes near his hotel. btw, a cab ride from the Quarter to a downtown hotel is about $8.
  17. That Holiday Inn French Quarter on Royal is now a Wyndham property.
  18. You did pretty good, in my opinion. I think you can take the new Loyola streetcar route to the Quarter. You'll have to take a cab back if you're out late. That's only $8-10 though.
  19. I've been bidding for days and couldn't get a deal! I was surprised that I got in on a Saturday and not a Friday, but that's fine with me as we didn't care if we stayed there on 5/10 or 5/11. This hotel is not fancy but it's clean and in a great location for me (1 block over from the $15 parking garage, and near the Quarter). btw, this was my first bid so you might could get the same place for a little less. And of course I used the PRICELINE link on this site.
  20. That's probably about as cheap as you can get that one on that weekend. It's within walking distance of the French Quarter and near the river so I'm happy with the deal. And of course I used the PRICELINE link on this page.
  21. The Convention Center area isn't really where I wanted but it was dirt cheap! We'll just pay $8 for a cab ride back from the Quarter at the end of the night! Of course I used the PRICELINE link on this site.
  22. I saw this on PRICELINE EXPRESS for $55 and figured it was the Royal St. Charles. I bid $45 and got it! It's a decent place in a great location. They do charge a $10 "resort" fee, but I knew that ahead of time. And of course I used this website's PRICELINE link.
  23. Aaron, would the Hyatt be considered near Canal Street? It's a long walk to the FQ from there, but it is a nice place at least. Edit: I was thinking of the Hyatt Regency. You're probably talking about the new Hyatt FQ. My mistake.
  24. We stay in the downtown zone more than the FQ zone. It's usually cheaper and everything is still within walking distance. And a 3 star isn't bad quality, just not as luxurious. The Holiday Inns are 3-star hotels, for example. You can also save money on parking by using a parking garage on O'Keefe. They have a big lighted sign that says overnight parking is $15, whereas a hotel charges $25-30. Of course O'Keefe may or may not be close to your hotel.
