  1. A very sweet win. Bid $80, counter offered a win from Priceline for $19 more, instead I used free rebid zones and bid $85 ( rejected) then $90 and a win. Good location - a first for the area. Hope it is not too noisy as it is right on the main drag of downtown Yonge Street. Used the PRICELINE link on Betterbidding of course ;-)
  2. Used the Betterbidding PRICELINE link, of course! Started at $65, was counter offered a room at $80, I rejected $80, added free rebid zone, offered $70 and got the "hotel in the bag". This is a very predictable win in that area, such a large hotel, they must always have rooms to fill! but it works location wise and rooms and service are great there.
  3. Using the Betterbidding Priceline PRICELINE link got this hotel, so perfect for my needs, walking distance to the 3 day course I am taking. Thank-you Betterbidding. Started bidding at $70, Priceline counter offered me the room at $82 - which I declined ;-) and rebid and "got it in the bag" Novotel Toronto Centre Check-In Thursday, March 15, 2012 at 03:00 PM Check-Out Sunday, March 18, 2012 at 12:00 PM 45 The Esplanade Summary of Charges Room Cost (avg. per room, per night): $75.00 (USD) Number of Nights: 3 Room Subtotal: $225.00 (USD) Taxes and Fees: $40.35 (USD) Total Room Cost: $265.35 (USD) Novotel Toronto Centre is the only 3.5 star hotel listed in the south toronto zone, so a guaranteed or at least predictable location two times now
  4. It is across the road from my conference, it is a total bullseye for me...and thank-you for updating my subject title to reflect the details of the win.
  5. I ALWAYS use the links when bidding but not when replying. I don't understand the replying links thing. ANYWAY I just used the PRICELINE link on this board to bid and won!!!! a 3 night stay Novotel Hotel on Esplanade for $70. a night (plus fees and taxes) for February 23- 26. I started bidding at $65 and Priceline suggested I increase my bid to $75 and I bid $70 and got it "in the bag". A killer deal. Rooms would have cost me $438 purchasing though Novotel website. My theory appears to have been correct about 3.5* in South Toronto area. Thanks for this great message board, it has saved me thousands of $!!!
  6. Of course I understand all that but based on wins posted on this board and listed hotels on your board, it seems like a reasonable conclusion that Novotel would be the only hotel that would be won on the 3.5 downtown south area.
  7. Delta Chelsea and Grand Hotel are both not in the South Downtown area. I would not get these if I just bid South downtown.
  8. I could not find any other 3.5 star wins in south area though. I will report back what i GET.
  9. If I bid 3.5* in Toronto (Downtown South) area, am I guaranteed to get the Novotel Hotel on esplanade because it is the only 3 .5 star hotel on the Priceline hotel list? Does it automatically also include the 4 * areas or limit the search to 3.5 * hotels?
  10. Thanks for your suggestion AaronJB, it was an excellent one. I went to Cedarburg because you said to and the place was AWESOME. I spent the whole day biking around ( on a rented bike) , met great people, there is an HUGE outdoor pool with watersides, great shops, fantastic restauraunts and a unique small town vibe that is hard to explain. it is a place I would go back to.
  11. Went through the Betterbidding PRICELINE link of course :-) Sheraton Gateway Toronto Intl Airport Toronto Intl Airport Terminal 3 Your Offer Price: $60.00 (US dollars) Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 1 Subtotal: $60.00 (US dollars) Taxes and Fees: $15.66 (US dollars) Total Charges: $75.66 (US dollars) Not bad was hoping for both cheaper but this is convenient. The rate on the hotel website is $109. + taxes. So the savings pays for the nights parking more or less.
  12. Priceline only shows one St. Catharines zone but the better bidding "Priceline Hotel List - Canada" shows 5 zones , can anyone explain this discrepancy to me? Betterbidding hotel list 1. St. Catharines - Niagara (Niagara Falls) 2. St. Catharines - Niagara (Niagara Falls North) 3. St. Catharines - Niagara (Niagara Falls West) 4. St. Catharines - Niagara (St. Catharines - Thorold) 5. St. Catharines - Niagara (Welland) Priceline 1. St. Catharines - Thorold Where are the other 4 zones?
  13. If I had known i would have used a betterbidding link and surely will next time. Thanks for bringing that to my attention. Often when i can't get a hotel and it gets near to my travel date, I fall to panic mode and start doing all kinds of irrational things :) .
  14. I will certainly stay at "Delafield" in the future, it is a must, but, to deal with the impossible Milwaukee downtown hotel situation for June 28th created by Summerfest , I just grabbed a Best Western Quiet House & Suites at 10330 N. Port Washington Road in Mequon, through the hotel itself for $91 a night. It has been a long time since I did THAT. It will all be great. Thanks for your help.
  15. Thanks for that, yeh 4.5 star "Delafield boutique hotel" IS being offered on HOTWIRE, it looks fun but also appears to be VERY far from Milwaukee. Any idea how inconveniently far it actually is?
  16. I just *bid* as high as $500 to see, it was rejected. there appears to not be any 4 * rooms being offered for that night at the moment.
  17. I see , thanks, you gave it your best! I am hoping rooms will be added to the PRICELINE offerings last minute for my 28th date. . With the "Milwaukee Summerfest" ( The World's Largest Music Festival) starting on the 29th and all the vendors arriving earlier , it is a bit of a disaster for hotel shopping!!!
  18. I am looking for the one night, 4 star downtown and there does not seem to be anything here or on HOTWIRE. Might more rooms be added as we get closer to the date? Could there be more in the 3.5 star properties? (I prefer 4*!!!) Give up on the downtown area?
  19. ab217003 did you inch your way up and plough through the rebid zones and wind up at $160 ? Where did you start your bidding I have been having a hard time keeping my bids down for 4* downtown that week as well. I have been stopping my bids at $145, I am looking for 28th and 29th 4 star downtown, but nothing.
  20. I don't see this property being won on Betterbidding recently, I am assuming it is a different Renaissance than the Blackstone? Using the freerebid zone, I impatiently jumped from a $95 bid to a $115 bid and was accepted. As recent bids were all rejected I was anxious! Hope this hotel is worth it :-) At least i got it done! Renaissance Chicago Downtown Hotel Millennium Park, Loop & Grant Park Area One West Wacker Drive Chicago, Illinois 60601 Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $115.00 Subtotal: $115.00 Taxes & Fees: $25.73 Total Charges*: $140.73 Started through the betterbidding PRICELINE link of course! $229.00 (before taxes) $264.27 (after taxes) on the Renaissance Chicago Downtown Hotel website and the property has GREAT tripadvisor reviews! ...me happy.
  21. dates in title should be 6/26/11-6/27/11 not 6/25/11-6/26/11
  22. The Pfister Hotel Milwaukee Downtown 424 E Wisconsin Ave Milwaukee, Wisconsin 53202 414-273-8222 Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $80.00 Subtotal: $80.00 Taxes & Fees: $19.70 Total Charges*: $99.70 :) Going through the Betterbidding PRICELINE link of course! , The Pfister Hotel is decent win!
  23. Scored for the Sunday. Not sure what to make of this win. Also not sure if this should be a new thread as a win. W Hotel Lakeshore North Michigan Ave - River North Area 644 North Lake Shore Drive Chicago, Illinois 60611 Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $90.00 Subtotal: $90.00 Taxes & Fees: $21.58 Total Charges*: $111.58 It is $199 on the W website so it looks like i saved $100. Thanks to Betterbidding and PRICELINE. Used the links of course! Bid up to $135 for the NMA and Loop zone for just the Saturday, but no win!
