  1. This was an "opaque" purchase. We called and got it resolved as their maps were not functioning properly when we booked. Everything got sorted out and worked out for all parties involved.
  2. Yes they were. I clicked n the hotel details listed those as amenities. I can send you a link if you want.
  3. I've been researching it. My guesses are: Clarion collection hotel Spring hill suites Hampton inn LaQuinta inn Residence inn These are the only 3 star hotels I see within the Alamo east area. Are there hidden hotels that Hotwire maps don't show?
  4. Can anyone help me Identify this hotel? 3* San Antonio RW East/Alamo 79 Dollars a night Recommended by 90% of Hotwire Customers Amenities include: Free Internet Fitness Center Pools Laundry Facilities Accessible for the blind Accessible for the deaf Accessible path for travel In-room Accessibility Handicap Parking Roll-in Shower Accessible Bathroom It says 143 on other sites, buy for 79$ a night. Thanks for any help.
  5. We got this hotel for 84$ dollars a night through Hotwire. Very close to the historic district and a great hotel. They have two sections, an older sections where the ballrooms are located and then the newer part. It is a nice hotel, I would just suggest not parking down there (fee for parking is like 21 dollars a day). We enjoyed our stay there. We used the HOTWIRE link on this page.
  6. The first Hotel was the Charleston Marriott Hotel on Lockwood Blvd. The price was 4 star for 80 dollars a night Located 1.5 miles (Straight line) from city center. Amenities Include: Free Parking Smoke Free Rooms Fitness Center Pools Restaurants Valet Parking Ballrooms Suitable for children
  7. The original Hotel was the Marriott on Ashley River (exactly 1 mile straight line from city center). 1.5 miles if walking by street blocks. They moved us to the double tree by Hilton by the market. Great hotel and very old, but a decent place to lay your head down.

  11. ********* UPDATE ******** I was on the phone with their customer reps all afternoon on Sunday. After about an hour of talking to different customer reps, I finally asked to talk to a supervisor. They supervisor looked at everything and decided that their website was wrong and that they would offer me a refund/rebook through them. We got a closer hotel and its a nicer hotel for 4 dollars more. I did agree to the terms and I now know that their distances are in a direct line instead of street distance. So overall I am glad it got changed and I hope they change their descriptions for future references.
  12. Been on the phone with them all day, apparently the distance is in a straight line from the hotel to the city center?? Why not put that in your description then. My wife and I talked it over and are going to swallow this and just accept it for what its worth. We will take Cabs where we go, apparently they are only 10-15 dollars to the historic district, we can afford 30 dollars a day in cab rides. It just sucks that they would lie to customers in their description and then not fess up to it. They kept coming up with excuses and reading other travelers tips apparently this hotel is not that great, but oh well.
  13. Just made a Hotwire purchase and got burned by the same thing! They stated in their description that it was 0.0-1.7 miles away from downtown, but it is actually 2.3 miles from downtown and its not even in the Historic District. I have called Hotwire and complained and they say there is nothing they can do, so I am just informing everyone I know not to use Hotwire and go with Priceline. Hotwires Map wasn't even working when we booked it, if it was working, i would of much rather paid full price and got something downtown, not near downtown. What a joke.
  14. 162 a night plus 70 dollars in taxes and other charges. I don't care about the price, the issue I have is they booked a Hotel NEAR the district, not in the Historic district. Hotwire screwed us, they said in the description that the hotel would be 0.0-1.7 miles away from city center, well the hotel they booked me in is 2.3 miles from city center. I called the customer service because their map view wasn't working the night we booked and we thought 1.7 miles was okay distance to stay. Well now they have us by the Ashley river and its not even close to the Historic District. The lady on the phone stated that their area is anywhere from 0.0-10 miles away. WHY NOT PUT THAT IN THE DESCRIPTION?? I am not happy and will not use that site again. Horrible, stay away from Hotwire.
