  1. They said if they moved Sunday it'd be ok since it's still a weekend, but during the week if they had to checkout it'd be too much of a hassle to check out in the morning while one of them was out on business and have just my dear old mum carrying a suitcase around to check in at another hotel by herself. Still trying to get Sofitel, just waited out the lockout and haven't had time to go back again. Thx for the help!
  2. That's a good question. They'd rather stay in one spot the rest of the week. They're gettin' up in age and I'd rather not see them switch either.
  3. Sorry, didn't post going rates of hotels. Here it is. Minneapolis-St.Paul (Airport (MSP) - Mall of America) 4* Sofitel - $149 weekdays/$99 weekend ( Was just $129/$89 a few hours ago) 3* Four Points - $149 3* Hilton Airport/Mall of America - $152 3* Park Plaza - $99 3* Sheraton Bloomington - $180 Minneapolis-St.Paul (Downtown Minneapolis) 3* Doubletree Suites - $179 3* Hilton - $179 3* Hyatt Regency - $189 3* The Marquette -$189 3* Marriott Minneapolis City Center - $349 3* Millenium Hotel - $178
  4. Just a quick FYI. If you're looking to stay at Sofitel it's the only 4* hotel besides the St. Paul(St. Paul) region so you will have multiple rebid opportunites. I know everyone can look that up on their own, but I went through each region and checked for any future bidders. This differs from the current hotel list only because no one has successfully bid on the 4* St. Paul/St. Paul yet I'm guessing.
  5. Ok, unsuccessful getting the rest of the week Sun through Saturday at the Sofitel. This is actually for my parents. I got them the Sofitel for the first 3 nights Thur-Sun and I'm looking to get them the rest of the week. They were flexible on their check-out date, either Friday 6/23 or Sat. 6/24 (they wanted an extra day for themselves as this is mostly a business trip...for my dad at least. My mom will probably be bored by then) I'm pretty sure I can get Sofitel at ~$70 for Fri 6/23, but declined as I bid the rest of the week up to $98 without luck. I think I was willing to bid a little over $100 cuz it wasn't my money, but then questioned whether or not it would be worth the value as I've heard good things about the downtown hotels. So I'm asking for help the last 5-6 nights. Suggestions on splitting the stay again or going for 3* downtown? Max bid ~$90. Budget is $100/night after taxes and fees. If people are familiar with the area please help. My mom will be shopping/doing nothing most of the time while my dad is visiting General Mills in the Golden Valley area. If you know of areas that will be good to stay in this situation then gimme an earful! Thanks in avance!
  6. Bid for 4* hotel, Airport region in $5 increments starting from $50. This is part 1 of 2 part bid as stay is from 6/15-6/24, but decided to split weekend off from weekday. Successful bid at $70. Will post again if successful for rest of stay.
  7. Trying to get the Venetian for that weekend. I know the bidding should be around $100. Anyone think it's too far in advance to get a room? My bid of $75 and $85 failed. I know those are ridiculously low, just wanted to see what if they counter offered or anything. No counter offer. I think i'll shoot for $95 with my next bid and then go $99 and $105 to see if I get it in the next week or so.
  8. Just my 2 cents... I would definitely try splitting the week up. Probably Fri and sat.(or sun) as one stay and Sun-Wed(thurs) as another. Definitely lowball the latter half of the stay as the weekdays are always less booked. Shoot for ~$100 on the fri-sat(sun.) and around ~$85(maybe less) for the latter half. Start bidding lower than what I suggest, but I'd expect to pay in that range. (start at $75 and use $10 increments? Some ppl have gotten $75 for 4* for those dates. Just a matter of timing I think) Keep the 4*!! I edited somewhat, but the rates seem high that week. Hopefully you get a good rate! good luck!
  9. First bid at $25 got the deal. Didn't know it would be that cheap. I just wanted to see what the counteroffer would be if I lowballed. Guess I got a good deal tho!
  10. Started bid at $80, then $90, then $100, then $105. Each time using a rebid zone. Got the Sheraton Wall Centre, downtown for $105. This was bid about a month ago, but I posted on TOBB. What a mistake. People, don't ever post there please! The admin there is a **** and banned me because I didn't use her links. What a crock. Wish i could delete all my posts now. Thx for giving me another place to share BB! :) *Sorry mod. Didn't post right. Can you fix this? I can't get into the details section for date and price.
