Got this hotel one block to the beach (not beachfront) for $80 on the first try, thinking I was lowballing. Hotels.com price listed is $179/night average. Looks nice!

Kind of grumpy about this one. Full price on Hotels.com is $49. Hotels.com and AAA (and the hotel itself when I called) consider this a 2-star hotel, not a 2.5-star hotel like Hotwire does. It doesn't look too bad, though. Technically, I guess I saved 10%, but it's certainly not a "Best Value!"
