  1. Have to make a last-minute business trip to Portugal. This hotel is great for staying the night before I fly out. Retail price was $99 for the same stay so this is a modest savings but I'm still happy with the price. Amenities: Free InternetAirport ShuttleFitness CenterRestaurant(s)Business CenterSelf service laundryInternet accessAccessible for the blindIn-room accessibilityAccessible bathroomHandicapped parkingRoll-in shower FYI, Lisbon now has several zones. This hotel is listed in Lisbon Portela Airport (LIS) area. I did not see an option to pick this zone when making my post.
  2. I'm sorry. I somehow screwed up the star rating. This was listed as a 3* property. I must have fat-fingered the star rating when I made my initial post. The address is London House Hotel 81 Kensington Gardens Square Bayswater London, GB, W24DJ
  3. Used the HOTWIRE link to start my search. Amenities: Free InternetSmoke Free RoomsSelf service laundryInternet access
  4. Took a chance on a this 4* in Rome. There were no reports on here that seemed to match but my research on Tripadvisor indicated it might be the Kolbe Hotel so I decided to risk it. Even though I did not end up with the Kolbe the reviews for this property are very positive (the 4.5/5 rating on Tripadvisor was what made me take the leap) and the location will be VERY convenient. While not a HUGE savings over retail ($92 on Expedia) the cumulative savings over the course of my stay is $85. ($375 vs $460 retail) Not too shabby. AND this board now has a new data point :) As always, used the Hotwire link to start my search. Amenities: Free Breakfast, Free Internet, Smoke Free Rooms, Restaurant(s), Business Center, Self service laundry, Internet access
  5. Those are the only amenities I can find. I don't see any additional links I can follow to get a more extensive list of amenities... -Matt
  6. Booked using the HOTWIRE links from this site. Retail price for my dates was $238/night so I was happy with the $50/night savings! I decided to go ahead and splurge on a decent deal for the start of our honeymoon because I had very high confidence that I would get this particular property. The location is perfect as well so I didn't want to risk on a priceline bid that might land me anywhere in london (WAY too many zones have 4-5 star hotels!) Amenities Free Internet, Indoor pool(s), Smoke Free Rooms, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business Center, Internet access, Spa Services,
  7. Retail price for the same night: $166+ fees ($199) My total with fees: $123 can't complain! I normally don't book this early but I'm planning for my honeymoon and wanted to get an idea of the prices to expect. Once I saw this deal for the last day of our trip and compared it against the other prices people had gotten I decided it wouldn't get any better if I waited. I was right! Once I booked the room I repeated the same search and the deal was no longer listed! Glad I didn't wait! Thanks again to the content on this forum that left me no doubt that I would be getting this property. Now to find the more expensive hotel in central London for the start of our honeymoon. Amenities Free Internet, Airport Shuttle, Smoke Free Rooms, Fitness Center, Restaurant(s), Business Center, Self service laundry, Internet access, Spa Services -Matt
  8. Retail price for these nights was $186 so I'm happy with the savings. High degree of confidence in the hotel being the Westin due to great win reports on this site! Used the HOTWIRE link to being my search. Amenities Listed: Free Internet Pet friendly Indoor pool(s) Smoke Free Rooms Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center High-Speed Internet Access In-room accessibility Accessible bathroom Roll-in shower
  9. This room purchase was for the tail-end of my Boston/New England trip (started here) I wanted to stay somewhere close to a T station so I can avoid keeping my rental car for the last day and having to fight Monday morning rush hour traffic getting to the airport. The retail price for the room that night was $299 so I'm quite pleased with this win. As always, the hotel lists here on better bidding were dead-on so I was quite confident that the hotel would be the Doubletree. Not an AMAZING property but good enough and centrally located. FYI: For people searching via Priceline on/around these dates... I bid up to $140 for a 4 star pretty much anywhere in the central Boston area (excluded the farther suburbs not served by the T) and got nothing. I typically get better deals through Priceline but not on this trip! Amenities: Smoke Free Rooms Fitness Center Restaurant(s) Business Center High-Speed Internet Access Accessible for the blind Accessible for the deaf Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Accessible bathroom As always, I used the HOTWIRE link from this site to start my search. -Matt
  10. My apologies. The amenities are as follows: Pet friendly Indoor pool(s) Smoke Free Rooms Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center High-Speed Internet Access Spa Services Accessible for the blind Accessible for the deaf Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Accessible bathroom Handicapped parking Roll-in shower I also began my search using the HOTWIRE link from this page. -Matt
  11. Listed amenities and tripadvisor ratings left no doubt that this was the Intercontinental. Just for fun I bid up to $150 on priceline in an attempt to secure a lower price (priceline fees are lower) but it didn't hit. Fell back to the hotwire deal and sure enough it was the hotel I wanted. Very happy with the discount as the price for the same nights through IGH.com was $309.00/night. Total with fees/taxes came out to $372.90. Now to book the rest of my hotels for this trip! -Matt
  12. Bidding strategy was a bit hap-hazard since I was very flexible as to location. I'm simply making a quick weekend getaway to London and just wanted to be near the city center and a tube station. So I started my bidding at $60 in Westminster, I believe, and kept adding city center zones (I was prepared to add a couple of farther-flung zones that did not have 4 star hotels but it didn't come to that). Bid in $5 increments and hit the Holiday Inn at $85 ($212 total including taxes and fees). This is a great price for this hotel ($212 vs. ~$330 for the same dates with a traditional booking!) Thanks again for the work that goes into this site. I learned the rebid technique here several years ago and have saved a TON of money on hotels over the years. I normally forget to post my wins here but thought I would share this one since there aren't a lot of London wins posted. -Matt
  13. This turned out to be the Best Western Plus Coyote Point. The reviews seem good and the price was ~$40 less than booking traditionally. However, I REALLY don't think this belongs in the 3.5* category as most sites list the property as a 2.5*. Amenities: Complimentary Breakfast, Fitness Center, Business Center, High-Speed Internet Access
