I'm new to Hotwire and I'm wondering if there is a way to ID the Clarion Convention Center in Louisville. May be the one described in a May 2005 post. Doesn't sound too great, but a friend needs it for a convention tis weekend for better than $72. Thanks for your help!! MissChele/KY

Yes, we are in Louisville. The dates have changes a bit (June 12-15), so we don't need Sunday. I'll look into that Hertz deal. We have a Hertz office right here by the office in Plainview. MissChele/KY

Sorry it took so long to bid. They thought they were ready but plans changed a bit. Got a Homewood Suites for $35 in Oak Brook June 12- 14 on the first try! Five minutes from the Mariott where the meetings are!! Unfortunately, they did not go through Savings Barn, so I will make a donation... MissChele/KY

OK. 1st choice Oak Brook-Downer's Grove, 2nd Lisle-Warrenville or Elmhurst. We would really like to stay as close to $50 as possible, so really, all those locations are good. Yes. First try was $48 each time. Probably could have gone lower, but had trouble before with both Beckley and Charleston.

Got it!! Thanks for the simple explanation of free re-bidding. I knew there was a way to do that, but found other's info a bit confusing. I got the Courtyard by Mariott on West Hundred in Chester (2 1/2) for $45 on the first try. Probably could have gone a little lower at first, but am very satisfied. Went through savingsbarn.com. Chester would be my first choice - just 5 miles or so, but I can hold for the Richmond S or Midlothian if I don't get anywhere... MissChele/KY

Thanks for the quick reply! OK here goes... If I put "Chesterfield" in, I get Chester, Petersburg, and something else. I think we will go with Chester on that one. Need a room in the Chesterfield area Aug 25-28. We will be visiting friends on Cogbill Rd. Where do I start? Chester is about 5 or so miles, but not much of a selection. Some of the Richmond hotels (Midlothian or Richmond South, I think) would be OK too. Would like the highest rating we can get in the 45-55 range. Recently found this board. Me likey!! MissChele/KY
