  1. Looking for the dates Feb 13-15. This Hotwire hotel is $57 per night. Does anyone know which hotel this is? Amenities: Free Parking, Free Breakfast, Free Internet Under "See all" it lists: Free Parking Free Breakfast Free Internet High Speed Internet Access
  2. tbder, That is a really good deal you got on priceline.com. If you look at the San Francisco- Hotwire thread(on betterbidding.com) you can see that people are getting the Whitcomb (using hotwire.com) for between $68-$71 per night(Plus taxes and fees). I entered the dates of your trip (you mentioned 4/16/12-4/20/12 which is actually a four night stay, so I used the dates 4/16/12-4/19/12 in my hotwire.com search) and it showed a rate of $68 per night for those three nights- so you saved $13 per night ($42 for your three night stay), plus you didn't have to pay taxes on the $42 amount you saved, so you actually saved about $46.00 (even over the price of what it would have been if you would have booked it on hotwire.com). So you practically got almost one free night. The Whitcomb is a really nice hotel. I have stayed there many times before. When regular customers walk up to the desk and book a room at the Whitcomb, you will see when you are there that they will be paying much more than you paid(they will be probably be paying $110 per night, plus taxes), so I think $55 per night was a steal.
  3. I thought I posted this on the San Francisco- hotwire thread, not the San Francisco- priceline thread? It must have been my mistake. I booked the Whitcomb using hotwire.com
  4. The amenities listed are "Smoke Free Rooms, Fitness Center, Restaurant." If you click on the small blue link that says, "see all" it also lists additional amenities of "Business Center, and High Speed Internet." I have stayed at the Whitcomb many times. I like it very much. The main problem with the Whitcomb is its location on Market St (near 7th). Although very conveniently located, it is an area with drug users, and homeless people(they don't sleep there- they seem to stay awake at all hours of the day and night), constantly asking for "spare change." That's as far as they go, though. I've never seen those people acting aggressive, or anything like that. The hotel, itself, is a wonderful (old world style)hotel, clean, with good security. But if people, right outside the hotel, asking for spare change is a deal breaker for you, then I wouldn't recommend the Whitcomb.
  5. I answered my own question about the 3.5 star vs. 3.0 star rating on hotwire.com of the Whitcomb Hotel. I booked a room last night at the Whitcomb, using hotwire.com for the dates, April 5-10 for $69 per night. It is definitely listed as a 3.5 star hotel. The amenities listed are "Smoke Free Rooms, Fitness Center, Restaurant." If you click on the small blue link that says, "see all" it also lists "Business Center, and High Speed Internet."
  6. Just to follow-up on my previous post, the Whicomb is listed in the "pinned hotwire list" as a 3 star hotel (as an aside, it is listed in the "pinned priceline hotel list" as a 2.5 star hotel).
  7. Are you sure the listing you selected, when you received the Whitcomb, was listed as a 3.5 star hotel? I have gotten the Whitcomb hotel before and it was always a 3 star hotel on hotwire.com? What amenities were listed (smoke free rooms, restaurant, hi speed internet........)?
