  1. I have two words of advice, and if you have read my thread for NYC you
  2. Persistence Finally Pays off, after shortening my dates I have Pinned the Roosevelt Hotel for 2 nights in MTE for a Price of $141/night from 05/12/06 - 05/14/06. Below is the strategy I used, slightly modified as I reduced from 4* to 3* with only I rebid area. I also opened up my locations to everything but the upper west side. I have pinned this hotel before a while back and remember it being in a great location and overall the stay was excellent. Select 3* MTW... Bid $110, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $115, if rejected close browser Select 3* UM/CPS... Bid $110, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $115, if rejected close browser Select 3* MTE
  3. Still no luck, I have gone up to 180 for 4* using the above method and changed my dates. I have also tried a similar method for 3* going up to 165 and still no luck (using one rebid zone). Is there something going on that weekend or is priceline just cutting the amount of rooms they have available? In any event i will continue to try the above method for a couple of more trys. Regards,
  4. Just attempted the weekend stratagy (120-160) with no results. will try again later.
  5. Might be kind of a pain to change hotels for only a 3 night stay, but I won't rule that option out. What would you suggest, Seperate the thursday night? What cost benifit do you think it will provide? Regards.
  6. No Luck to Date, I have tried both strategies, any other recommendations? Do you know if something is going on that weekend? I still have time on my side so I will attempt the same strategy a couple of more times. Regards.
  7. Based on recent threads, I think around $165 per night is more realistic, does that sound like a reasonable price for the MTW, MTE, MTCP for the period I selected?
  8. I apologize for not following up, I completely forgot. None the less what I ended up doing was searching only for 4*. I didn't have much of a strategy as I was in a pinch to book the hotel between my San Francisco and San Diego portion of my trip. Bidding was as follows: 4* targeting down town Opening bid 130, no luck rebid zone 140, no luck rebid 150, and hit. Ended up with the Hilton Checkers in Downtown LA was a nice hotel, but we were practically forced to use valet parking. The hotel is in a good location and during the day there is a lot to see and walk to. However downtown LA seemed pretty sketchy after the sun went down and we didn't do much walking. Regards,
  9. Hello, I am looking for some help in booking a 4* in the NYC area. My area choice areas would be MTW, UM/CP, MTE, these are in the order of choice. Would it be reasonable to be looking at a strategy landing a single room for MAX $130/night from May 11/06 - May 14th (3 nights)? Thanks in advance for the strategy,
  10. Thanks for the advice, but based on history from my last bid in San Diego and getting a boarder line 4* my wife is giving me the gears and "prefers" not to bid for 3* (Since that was the highest available). My interpretation in "man" language means that I
  11. Just got Hyatt Regency Islandia for $100/night for 2 nights and 1 room. Hopefully the hotel will actually be a 4*, it was listed as 3.5* on Expedia, and the reviews were mixed. Seems people who paid $100 or less were happy, so we'll just have to find out. Bid details below: Bid $75, rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $80, rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $85, rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $90, rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $95, rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $100, Accepted
  12. Does anyone have any advice that they can lend with respect to staying in LA for 3 nights. I was looking at targeting the beach area in my search (Santa Monica & Manhattan Beach) I
  13. I was a little nervous like most new users trying the rebbidding strategy, but I decided to deploy the method and I am quite happy with the results. Bid details are as follows: As you can see I was targeting the USW trying to stay away from the USE and Wharf Date: September 2-6 (4 nights) 1 room 1st - $68 USW only 2nd - $70 USW + Airport 3rd - $75 USW + Airport + Civic 4th - $77 USW + Airport + Civic + Cathedral 5th - $80 USW + Airport + Civic + Cathedral + South San Not that it means very much but Expedia had it for about 230/night! Thanks guys for the posts they really helped out.... now on to LA!!!!!!
