  1. Tried $55 for 3 star near MIA and failed. Tried $60 for 2.5 star hoping I'll get bumped to 3 star for that price and that's exactly what I got. Thanks BB.
  2. 3* Troy - Madison Heights- Marriott 1/13-1/15-$55 Could have started low but given this zone was important to me and there is not many choices for re-bidding, I went with a slightly higher bid. Used PRICELINE link.
  3. Searched for $44 yesterday and failed. Tried again this afternoon for $52 today and won the following. Room Cost (avg. per room, per night): $52.00 (USD) Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Guests Per Room: 2 Number of Nights: 1 Room Subtotal: $52.00 (USD) Taxes and Fees: $15.92 (USD) Total Room Cost: $67.92 (USD) As usual used the PRICELINE link.]
  4. Following are the Hotel amenities showing for this property: Fitness Center Pool(s) Business Center Laundry Facilities (self-service) High-Speed Internet Access Golf Nearby From the research I've done this used to a Residence Inn
  5. booked this one thinking it's the MET, but this must be a new hotel or name changed recently.. Birmingham - Troy - Madison Heights The Gatehouse Suites Troy Midscale See ratings guide 2600 Livernois Rd, Troy, MI, 48083 Rate per night: $48.00 Dates: 08/4-08/06 Hotwire price: $48
  6. Won this at first bid at $42 Courtyard By Marriott Troy 1525 E Maple Road Troy, Michigan 48083 Looks like PL has changed the map once again as there is no longer a 3.5 * for Troy - Madison Heights. Can someone confirm if this is the same Courtyard that used to come under 2.5 star? used PRICELINE link.
  7. Won this bid at first try, $45 for Hyatt Summerfield Suites Fort Lauderdale Airport-South for 5/7-5/9 . I don't believe this hotel is listed under your Priceline hotel list. Is it a new hotel on the map? As always, used PRICELINE link.
  8. Tried 3* at 40 yesterday for all TPA areas and had to wait 24hrs for retry. Tried 3 * again for TPA West and South area at $44. Strangely engouh PL gave me a warning saying it is too low and I ignored it. Luckily, it accepted that rate and upgraded me to a 4* Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay. I must say I have heard others say they ignore the warning message on the bid being too low, but in my experience this was the first time it actually for me rather than against me. I used the PRICELINE link.
  9. Tried Tempe, Scotsdale, Scotsdale North area at 35,40 and 45. Won this one at $50. Note: The pervious poster to me won the same hotel for $45, but for a different date. If you try for this hotel, I'd suggest goiing at at 45 and make your slowly up to $50, I was in a rush. used PRICELINE link.
  10. the link i have book marked for PL is http://www.betterbidding.com/clicks/click....src=1&id=40 I believe this is the correct URL that will allow PL to give you the credits. Let me know if otherwise.
  11. Hello, I have started to book on PL for my business travels on a weekly basis now. I have also bookmarked your PRICELINE link and start my bids from there. Having used PL for years now, I have some technical questions which I am hoping an advanced user may be able to help answer and give me some insights in bidding better so here they come (for simplicity sake, I've kept the names of the hotel to A & :) 1) I've noticed I can get one of the two 3.5 star hotels in the area I work in. One of them, hotel A, I get it for $45 dollars almost always. The other hotel, hotel B, I almost always get it for $55. I have a good feeling these are the only 3.5 star level hotels in the neighborhood I want to be in so my odds are 50:50 depending on availability. My question is, supposed if both hotels are available, and I bit $55, will PL give me Hotel A or hotel B? In other wards, does PL go by the most margin it can make out of my bid and offer me Hotel A or does it use a different algorithm, such as Hotel B gets 1st preference because there are more rooms available for Hotel B? I am sure there is a logic to how PL awards the winnings, but does anyone know? 2) I noticed there is *some* relationship between the hotels that shows up on Hotwire and what you see on PL, but not always. For example, Hotel B has not always shown up on Hotwire for me to win this hotel on PL. Can someone confirm? 3) Does the number of rooms a hotel allocates to PL depend on the projected or forested number of occupancy for that hotel? Also, do these numbers change as cancellations and new bookings come to the hotel? The reason I ask is, I can always go to the hotel
  12. Is this a relatively new property in IAD area? I've never been able to get this for a long time.
  13. Extended Stay Deluxe Washington, D.C. - Chantilly I did not see this in your list of hotels for IAD. Must be a new hotel then? Used PRICELINE link.
  14. wanted to start the bid at $30, but got a 'low bid warning' in red from PL. Since the star level was too low, and it was only for one night, I went in at $35 and won the bid. Just curious, does anyone know how often is PRICELINE correct when it says your low is too low? I've read from this forum that a few have won their bids even with the 'low bid' warning from PL. I personally have never won once by ignoring the message, and I've been using PL for over a decade now. oh , and I used the PRICELINE link.
  15. won this at $48 night for 9/20-9/24. Used the PRICELINE link. Here's something interesting I noticed along the way, I wonder what PL's logic is behind this: Bid1: $42 IAD - retry page. Bid2: $43 IAD, area B- got page saying raise price by $12 (okay, at this point I knew I was getting close) Bid3: $45 IAD, area B, C- got page saying raise price by $13 (it raised the amount by $1, strange logic, isn't it?) Bid4: $47 IAD, area B, C, D- Retry page (now, that's even more strange. I was expecting another counter offer from PL) Bid5: $48 IAD, area B,C,D,E- SUCESS!!
  16. Thanks Yellowdog. After posting this, I called the hotel and I was pleasently surprised to hear a YES for both my requests.
  17. Used a $10 off coupon I got from PRICELINE so it was really $38/night is what I paid. started off with $38, $42 and won this one at $48. Sorry couldn't use the PRICELINE link on your site as I had to use the link PL sent me to use the $10 coupon. Does anyone know if the Sheraton has free parking and free shuttle to IAD ?
  18. Used PL strategy to get the 3.5 * Marriott Troy for Friday night. Started at $42 and went all the way up to $55 with all other areas selected with the exception of Auburn Hills (the only 2nd zone with a 3.5*)- No dice. Finally got a bit frustrated and picked Auburn Hills at $60- and won 3.5 * Hilton Suites Auburn Hills. Here are the details: Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $60.00 Subtotal: $60.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $14.42 Total Charges*: $74.42 Used the PRICELINE link.
  19. tried 4* for French quarters and Downtown Convention center for $80. didn't win. chose 3.5 for 60, didn't win. chose one of the areas that doesn't have 3.5 stars and tried it for $75 and won the DoubleTree in Convention center area. Surprisingly, no 3.5 was available on Hotwire. The same room is going for 199.00 on the doubletree site, so I think I got a pretty good deal.
  20. one night only. Started with $47 and worked my way up to 52 , tried all available 2 1/2 stars and up areas. I then chose 2 star and won this for 47 plus tax= 59.86. I do not believe this hotel is recorded anywhere, so must be new.
  21. first try 65- Priceline gave me the option to go up by 17 second try $80. won the bid.
  22. Hi, I am a bit afraid I've waited on this too long as its only 2 days away. I am looking for a min 3 * hotel in Monterey, CA. I am willing to spend in between $60 to $100 depending on your recommendations. Also, it
