  1. Our dates are actually not going to be flexible, as we are going to be down 1 employee @ work so our schedule will be tight and can't move around with the dates except for a saturday or sunday. The week we're looking at is July 21-28. Thanks! Joey p.s. will give review of our stay at the Omni in Jacksonville, FL when we return in a week and a half from our spring break trip (always use the links from this site :) )
  2. This is amazing news for that property! I've stayed there before and loved it so much! Ah...I have hope! You will have a wonderful time. Crossing my fingers we see this property pop up now a bit more! Enjoy :D
  3. Thanks Thereuare! You always offer help and I appreciate that. I will always book thru the links here! We're looking at second week in july for either 7 or 8 days. Our goal is to do 2 days in San Juan and then venture further out down the coast to have time at the beach and visit El Yunque. (been to El Conquistador before and loved it but know it's not one of the usual properties).
  4. Good morning! Our family is considering a trip to Puerto Rico this summer and I was curious if the majority of the Priceline bids accepted during the hot summer months were generally lower at that time? Any idea historically of this data? Your help is always appreciated. Thanks! Joeynga
  5. Retried all the options and opened it up to four other areas, but was getting dinged when it was well over 100 again, which I believe is due as you said to the holiday weekend. So..I rebid and added the downtown zone (which was not my choice originally but I have gotten several Omni hotels from priceline before) and won it at 90. 2 rooms. It was a good deal and it has undergone a recent 5 million dollar renovation and got highest reviews on TA for downtown hotels. Directly on riverwalk area so it should be nice. So far have never been disappointed with an Omni before. Still a distinct savings during a holiday weekend. Used the link through PRICELINE from this site! Thank you again.
  6. Not giving up just yet! will try again tomorrow (friday) and see what turns up. I will carefully make notes of my pre-bid strategy and post it here before I bid and then again after (hopefully with a good win!). Again, trying for the 3.5 star (which I know is beachfront) on Jax/Ponte Vedra/Mayo Clinic or for the 4 star area near Jax/Fernandina Beach/Amelia Island area. Just want a few relaxing days with hopefully a balcony room with a good view. Ocean would be nice. Work has become rather stressful. Spring break isn't just for the kids, it's for us too! :D
  7. Max bid was 102 but usually I believe an acceptable bid should have been lower if going rate is a little above 200 a night with both resorts in specific areas I've targeted. Seems unusually inflated (hubs has visited Jax on business trips and is very familiar with the area and it's prices). Going to try again and see if I open up another area (use the better bidding approach) with nothing more than say 3 stars but keep 3.5 and 4 checked. Do you think that's wise? If not, I'm going to try Orlando, because that seems to be an area with plenty of hotel rooms to choose from.
  8. dates are from friday thru sunday (apr 6-8). Checkout on sunday. Thank you for checking and helping out :)
  9. Yep I'd love to move forward on that and tried to book tonight through this site but got dinged. Opened it up to mayo clinic area and put in 3.5 star knowing which resort that was and rejected also. Bids up to 85. :( We're going from April 5-8. On the fifth just need one night and then on the sixth we need 2 rooms (hubs and I and our son). He's flying in to meet us on friday from a business trip. It will just be my son and I on thursday night.
  10. We're going to go to Jacksonville for spring break (family trip) for a long weekend, and am wondering since this one is not listed on the priceline list of hotels and there's not a 4* listed for that area, which one it could be? It does say it has a rating of 9 or better (which is great). Any help is appreciated and thank you in advance. Glad to be here.
