  1. Price seemed to jump up and down nearly daily. $49 was the best price I saw over a week's span. Price certainly influenced due to it being only a Sunday night during low-season. Amentites: Boutique Hotel Oceanfront Restaurant Hi-Speed Internet Access Golf Nearby I've found very good and very bad reviews on the hotel, but if nothing else it's a great price for a perfect location.
  2. 1 room, 1 night. I was ok with any of Tech Center North, Tech Center South, Airport, or Aurora. I started with Tech Center North as it seemed to be the cheapest based off the posts made here. All Bids for only 3* 1st bid - Tech Center North - $25 Added Littleton (free rebid) - $28 Added Northeast (free rebid) - $30 Added SW-Lakewood (free rebid) - $32 Added Tech Center South - $33 Added Airport - $35 -- Accepted in Tech Center North (Hyatt Regency)
  3. 1 room, 2 nights. Bid once on 3* in Colorado Springs South and got it at $50. I may have gotten it a little lower, but this portion of my trip is a business trip. I definitely wanted this area and I wanted to save my rebids just in case, and price wasn't as much a concern. I was willing to go up to $70-$80. I know my company wouldn't have gone for the $139 list price though.
  4. 1 room, 4 nights at the Grand Hyatt downtown. Rebids: $55,$60,$65,$70,$75,$78,$80,$85,$90 A little higher than I was hoping for, but that's what I get for waiting until a week before to book.
  5. This is one of the best Holiday Inns I've ever been in. Clean, spacious room, with very nice decor. The pool and hottub were clean and had a lifeguard on duty at all times. This hotel is in the 2.5 star category on Priceline, but I would call it more like a mid to high 3-star. Great bargain at $27 per night on Priceline. We did not eat the food there, so I can't comment on that. There are, however, plenty of cheap restaurants nearby, in addition to a couple of bars and some rather run-down strip malls. Downtown was probably about a 20 minute drive or so, and it was easy to get to. My only complaint was the front desk staff. A couple of the ladies were rather rude. I asked once for directions to downtown. The lady, without saying a single word, walked to the other end of the counter, grabbed a directions sheet, came back and slapped it down in front of me and walked away. It didn't bother me much, I got the directions I needed, but she could have been a little more cheerful.
  6. thereuare, I know it'd be more work for you, but I'd like to suggest the possibilty of adding a "last seen" date to new accepted bids in your priceline hotel lists (may work ok for hotwire as well). It could just be a short date in parenthesis after the hotel name - e.g. Cincinnati (King's Island Area) 2* Towneplace Suites (8/05) 2* Springhill Suites (10/04) I'd assume priceline adds and drops certain hotels as those hotels' managements change their business strategies and pricing schemes. Seeing that a hotel hasn't be seen on Priceline in over 2 years would help us make more informed decisions on trying for certain areas. Obviously, it would be nearly impossible to go through all the legacy bids already on the site, but starting from now forward would be more managable. It's just a suggestion. I realize it'd be a decent amount of extra work for you, so take it as you will. :)
  7. Yeah, we definitely plan on doing the Rock 'n Roll hof while we're there. Not sure what else yet, though.
  8. Looking for one night stay - Friday, 9/2 Tried this past Wednesday for 3* in Downtown using my 3 available re-bids and was rejected on all the following: $31, $34, $37, $40. Waited 72+ hours and tried again. Was rejected for the same 3* in Downtown using $39 bid, but was offered a free re-bid of same area this time for +$11. Passed on that and added Airport South (re-bid) at $42 and was accepted at Embassy Suites. Great site you have here! Keep up the good work. It's very helpful to us.
  9. I was shooting for different specific hotels, so the bids may seem random, but here goes: All bids were for 2 nights, Sunday and Monday night, 8/28 and 8/29 $49 4* Downtown (rejected) $52 4* Downtown and Greentree (rejected) $40 3* Downtown (rejected) $35 3* Downtown and Greentree (rejected) -start over- $22 2.5* Airport (rejected) $27 2.5* Airport and Downtown (accepted) Accepted at Holiday Inn Pittsburgh Airport ($109 cheapest room on HI website)
