Checked out bids on this board and TOBB for resorts in Maui Ka'anapali. Looked like the Sheraton and Westin were going for about $145. Bid $145 then $155 but no luck. Figured that those hotels had no inventory on priceline for my dates (some other poster had no luck on similar dates). People were getting the Hyatt at $180, so I bid $180 the following day (they surprisingly took my bid w/o me changing my search parameters) and got the Hyatt. Rack rate was $230/night for my dates. For comparison, Hotwire had a 5* resort (most likely the Hyatt based on amenities) at $211/night.

Group trip 10/3. 4 rooms x 3nights. Secured Hilton hotel on first bid at $95 for 4* MTW. Guess I could have started a bit lower since posted wins at $85. Needed 1 room for an extra night. Repeat bid at $95 and secured room at same hotel. Does anyone know if they ever take volume into consideration (lower accepted bid for more rooms) or does it just make it harder to find a hotel with space available?
