  5. I posted a topic yesterday asking if payless is a reliable company as they offered me a mid-size SUV for $33 a day. Many thanks to the reply of thereuare. Although I said in the reply to that post that I will go with the offer, the second tier thing still makes me a bit uneasy. So I decided that today I will try 3 bids and that's all, third bid accepted! Hooray! Your Offer Price: $26.00 (per day) Total Rental Days: 4 days(4 days and 30 mins) Subtotal: $104.00 Taxes and Fees: $59.84 Total Charges: $163.84 Lowest Published Price: $289.12 (USD) Total Savings:* $125.28 (USD) (You saved 43%) As always, I used your PRICELINE link and thank you!

  7. the exact message I received: Negotiation on Hold: Please Try Again We were unable to find a Name Your Own Price® deal on a Fullsize SUV. Your credit card has not been charged.
  8. I've never used this company for car rental before but priceline is offering a good deal (sounds to me) with this company. mid-size SUV 10/16-20 at ABQ for $33 a day or $191 total. Is it a good deal? Hotwire offers the same car type for $275.92. Also when I was bidding, I bid for $20 a day for full-size SUV and the next screen showed that "bidding on hold" because they cannot find this car type offered and told me that my credit car has not been charged. What does this mean? Does it mean that they accept my bidding price and will let me know when this car type become available? As always, used the PRICELINE link here and thank you for your great advice!
  9. Hotwire provides "Special Car" which is compact size or larger but priced low like a compact. What kind of cars are they usually are? Is it a good deal? Thanks!
  10. started to bid at $100 for Boston (Cambridge East - Charlestown), then added Fenway park and rebid at $110, then added Boston (Cambridge West - Harvard) and rebid at $125 and got this hotel! I
  11. FINALLY BOOKED! The price on hotwire today is crazy! I got a standard car at: Car daily rate: $14.33 Rental days: 7 Estimated taxes and fees: $81.54 Estimated subtotal: $181.82 It's from enterprise, On Airport - Shuttle to Vendor
  12. When I started to look for this rental, I was using priceline and received many advices from thereuare. However they refused my bid at $15 today and proposed $19 for a compact car. I just checked on hotwire, the list price for compact is $15.99, a better deal! Also they have a "special car" (Compact size or larger but priced low like a compact** ) at $18. I'm wondering what that is. Is it worth the money in your opinion? And also what kind of "location" will be the most convenient? Counter in airport; Shuttle to car, or On Airport - Shuttle to Vendor? My flight arrives at 11am and departs at 9am. Thank you again for this great forum!
  13. thanks for the advice. I tried $13 yesterday but was rejected. I will try to bid at $15 today. I have a question, is insurance included in the final price? If not, how much does it cost?
  14. thereuare, thanks a lot for your reply. I'm interested in a compact car. Do you think 15 per day can be a reasonable bid or should I go higher or lower from there? Thanks.
  15. Hi I just booked a hotel in Houston using the PRICELINE link from this website. Now I'd like to add a car rental during my stay. Priceline gave me the following rates, 21 per day for mid-size, 23 for economy, 26 compact, 27 standard, and 28 full-size. I'm wondering if those are good prices or by bidding I can get better off. Never bid for car rental before so I'd really appreciate your suggestions! We are two people and don't have much luggage. What size of car do you think will be of best value to us? Thanks!
  16. Thank you for your post AaronJB. But I can't find the car rental section. Could you please post a link?
  17. used the link from better bidding and won on first bid. Was hoping to get a 3* hotel closer to Rice university. but this is still a good deal I think. I will need to rent a car. Do you suggest me to get one from priceline or there is better deals else where? Thank you for this forum!
