  1. I am just being greedy here. Hoping PRICELINE bidding will beat the Hot.wire price. Does it usually work this way - as in priceline exress deals more expensive than priceline bidding? Or they both about the same always?
  2. Thanks, not something we would want. Our budget is $50-$60 per night without taxes and fees. Don't think they have any good 4* ones in the south strip area for this price range. Looks like our best bet is Treasure Island on strip north. PL express has it at $64 and Hot.Wire has it at $59 if I am guessing it right. I am also bidding on PRICELINE for strip area north zone. Gone up to $52, still no win. Will keep you posted.
  3. Thank you. Done. The zone is 4 Star Hotel Las Vegas Strip South Area
  4. I ended up booking a full size car directly with a provider. Forgot which. Thanks for your assistance.
  5. I ended up booking directly with the hotel. Thank you for the tips.
  6. $56 Amenities: Free Parking Swimming Pool Pets Allowed Fitness Center Casino Business Center Thanks.
  7. I did go through the threads in this forum and I have a question - Is Gaylord Opryland still the only 4* hotel in the Opryland area? I absolutely positively want to stay in opryland for this labor day weekend (Sat and Sun night) and the regular price is $195 and (I think it is Opryland) the HOTWIRE price is about 169. And I guess I can score the same resort in PRICELINE for less than 150. What do I start with? Also I need two rooms and I want them next to each other. I know some hotels don't honor special requests when booked through agents like priceline, I would like to know how good is Gaylord in this regard. Yes, I did use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links in this forum to search. Thanks for reading.
  8. I won Treasure Island for $50 (2 rooms) for the dates: 5/13-5/15. Thats exactly the property we wanted. Super excited. Did not get a 5* for the dates (I went up to $95) I used the PRICELINE link multiple times for my searches. Thanks for all the help.
  9. Won Palace station for $47. Sweet deal for a Saturday night, but not too happy about the $15 resort fee.
  10. Used the PRICELINE link and went up to $96 today for the same 5* bid. Unsuccessful, will probably book something using your Support Page as a back up and keep trying for the 5*. I might not win for a 2 digit per night rate I think. Btw, I won Palace Station Hotel for the Saturday night. I neither wanted to stay on the strip nor too far away from it on Sat'day night, so that worked. Sweet deal at $47 but not too thrilled about the $15 resort fee :-(
  11. I clicked on the PRICELINE link in the forum to search for those dates and it seems I could get a car for as little as $9 (ALAMO). We are a group of 4 and we will be driving to the West Rim / Skywalk too. I don't know what kind of car should I choose. Do I need a SUV to drive on those unpaved roads? This will be our first time driving to the canyon. If we don't need a SUV, I am thinking of a Standard / Full size (Currently $13 / $14) ALAMO. So I would start bidding at $8. Please advise.
  12. 5*. I am a little hesitant to bid on 4* because we do not want to stay on something like Monte Carlo. Waiting for 24 hours to pass by. Will bid only for Strip North (targetting the *reported* properties Palazzo/Wynn/Venetian). If this does not work out will book any of our favorite 4* on the strip, directly. Thanks for all the help.
  13. Thanks! I used the PRICELINE links to start bidding. I started with 73 and went all the way to 85 just focussing on strip North by adding several rebid zones. No success yet. Not sure what we will do just yet. The normal prices for 4* on the ones we like (MGM for example) are around the 80 range too. So may end up booking those directly on PRICELINE..
  14. Thanks. I clicked the HOTWIRE link about to search and they still show up, but you are right. One of them is South area. Search is for 5/13 - 5/15 with all the defaults. I have copied the results and pasted here. Las Vegas Strip - South area hotel $184 other sites* $97.00 per room, per night 5-star Hotel in Las Vegas Strip - South This Hotel features the following amenities: Resort Free Parking Casino Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center High-Speed Internet Access Golf Nearby Spa Services Resort fee $25 a night Las Vegas Strip - North area hotel Super savings† $135 other sites* $82.00 per room, per night This Hotel features the following amenities: Spa Services Resort Free Parking Smoke Free Rooms Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center High-Speed Internet Access Golf Nearby Tennis Nearby Kitchenette Resort fee about $30 a night
  15. I clicked on the HOTWIRE link on the forum to search again. It did show two 5* hotels on the same area (Las Vegas North Strip). Details are in the post above. Please help me ID those. Resort fee on one of them $82 ($135 other sites)) is $30.00 and the other ($97/night. ($184 other sites)) is $25.00. The reason I would want to ID them was because if one of those is my preferred choice (Venetian / Palazzo / Wynn). I would not worry about bidding on Priceline, since I won't be sure what will I get. Yes, I did click on the PRICELINE link too.
  16. Thanks, makes sense. I have split my stay in to two. Saturday night, where I d settle for something cheap (3*+ I ll post a separate thread for). On this stay, I d reduce it to two nights, 5/12 - 5/14 and will bid for 5* first. I saw a couple of <100$ rates on HotWire for this stay and I have posted a thread on the HotWire forum. Based on that, I d start bidding for Priceline using the link on this forum

  18. Thank you for the details. One last question before I click on the PRICELINE link on the forum to start bidding: I m there for 3 nights actually and I was thinking to stay close to the airport on the night of 14th since we have a 7 am flight. But seems like the rates near the airport are more than the ones on the strip. Do I stand a chance of < $40 rates on that night for a room near LAS? If yes, I ll start a separate thread for that.
  19. Thanks I just clicked on those links. Yes, anywhere between MGM and Wynn is fine with me. I will probably book 2 rooms. Either 4* or 5*
  20. Seems like I won't get a 5* in that price range because one of my nights is a *Saturday*. I can go for a 4* too. Please help me bid.
  21. Dates: 5/12 - 5/14. We are a group of 4 people, I am not sure if they honor 2 double bed requests on priceline bookings. If not, I m OK to book 2 separate rooms too. I am OK with any of the properties between the MGM Grand and the Wynn on the strip. My budget is around $100. Based on the recent wins, I think my best chance is either the Wynn or the Aria. I haven't started bidding yet. Need suggestions. I don't want any of the properties which are off the strip. Also need inputs on the re-bidding strategy since I don't have a lot of time with me.
  22. Yes you are right. That is why I decided to book a resort. And this particular one charges $25, but both parking and Internet are included. Not bad I guess.
  23. I have a win. Used the PRICELINE link. $100 for Waikola Beach Marriott Resort and Spa. Thanks to this forum, I knew where to start and what to expect.
