  1. Booked on lastminutetravel, got the Marriott Copley for $147/nt, rooms on marriott website were listed at $299/nt. Unbeatable deal. It was listed on the site as 3.5* Back Bay hotel 11 miles from airport. A+ would use that site again. :) :) :)
  2. On request... That means they will get back to me in 72 hours? Sounds shady. Im thinking I can get a similar deal on PRICELINE without the 72 hour waiting period.
  3. There are some great deals on lastminutetravel right now, going to go with that.
  4. The best rate is on the 5* Langham, which is showing at $228 per night, much less than other 3,4,5 stars. The average looks to be around $250 though, which is insane considering its a Monday through Thursday booking. Never seen anything this high during the week anywhere.
  5. Post has been followed up. PRICELINE was not the best option at that time.
  6. Ended up renting a condo from a private owner, as the hotels were super expensive that weekend and PRICELINE wasn't getting me any discount worth using as the bids were over $110 a night and still no bites.
  7. Looking for a bidding strategy for a 3.5* -4.5 star in Copley Square - Back Bay or Boston Common - Theater District areas :) This board has been helpful in the past. Looking to spend less than $100 per night seeing as they are weekdays only. I have gotten downtown chicago hotels at $65-$80 before during the week using priceline so would like to start bidding at $70 if not less! Thanks mods! -Phippsy
  8. All those bids were rejected! Hopefully the prices drop as the date approaches... I wonder why so expensive that weekend????
  9. Looked at lastminutetravel website, I am not seeing the hotel you speak of. Does that website constantly update selection and prices as well?
  10. Thanks to you both, I will look into that. I have never booked a backup hotel before, why would one do this?
  11. Hi thereuare, I would first like to bid up to the limit for a 4 star, and then would try the same with a 3.5 star. Yes, we would be fine with any 4* hotels as long as it is downtown. Thanks for the reply!
  12. Seeing as this board has help others score great bids, I am hoping to get a four star or 3.5 in Downtown Austin on the dates of 3/23-3/26 (1 room). My max bid is preferably $105. Have seen winning bids for the Omni Downtown in the 80's. This is the ideal hotel we wish to stay at. Downtown in the only zone we wish to stay in. Thanks in advance.
  13. Ran through about 50 bids starting from $65 for a 4 star using the PRICELINE link on this site, was rejected all the way up to $130. Used all price zones that were in central manhattan. Switched to 3.5 star and started bidding at $80. At $113 I was prompted to bid $130 and I closed and rebid up to $120 and won Park Central. Though I was hoping for the helmsley in MTE, I am very much happy with this hotel, as it got great reviews on trip advisior, even though I saved only $10 off the direct booking price. Must be a busy time for New York I figure, I saw 4*s going for $85 in MTE on other dates.
  14. Bid $55 first on loop only; was prompted to increase bid to $75, then increased to $58 and added river north zone. Incredible deal for a great property that I always enjoy in Chicago!
