I didn't realize Boston was expensive in the mid Fall and late Fall like the summer. I figured going late octoner or early November would see rates fall but seems the cheapest I have seen is $140 a night at Copley House, $435 total for 3 nights which is just a bit too much for my budget. Is Boston a high tourist city all year round? I was hoping for maybe $100 a night but that might be pushing it? I was wanting to book a 3 night stay with Porter Airlines here in Toronto having a steal of a seat sale til this Friday. I will keep looking but unless I stay outside the city, which I do not want to bother having to rent a car, then possibly mighr wait until mid winter in January.

Seen as I am doing Chicago in August again, I still want to visit Boston for a weekend. And WWE is holding a Pay Per View on Sunday September 16th. I am looking at Saturday Sept 15th and leaving to go back to Toronto Tue Sept 18th. Porter Airlines here has a big seat sale and the flight would only cost me $214 with all taxes. I would like to see though how much the hotels might be. The event is being held at the TD Bank Garden. Thanks guys

I would be flying into anthe rates may be zd out of Midway. I am going to keep an eye on HOTWIRE, Expedia etc for the next couple of weeks to see the rates. I figured being a long weekend the rates would be high. I will keep you all posted with more info. Right now it is just a possibility.

I am just floating the idea around to see what Labour Day Weekend hotel rates might be like. There is a WWE Monday Night Raw event on Monday Sept 3rd, and even though I am going to be back in Chicago with a co-worker in mid August, I wouldn't mind going back again for a 3rd trip this year for a long wekeend and another wrestling event. So just curious if the rates are quite high for say The Loop area? I've stayed at the Renaissance on Wacker in April for $102 a night and this upcoming August trip I am at the Blackstone rennaissance for $95 a night. Both won pn Priceline with the help of many of you on here.

What a history that hotel has. And being a historic landmark makes it even more inviting. I do like the location, seen as I did not check out that area really at all except Millenium Park. So this will indeed be a good trip and staying at a really nice hotel. I sure am glad I found this site. My next trip will be to Boston in the late fall/early winter.

Maybe one of the terrific people on here can tell me this. I had bid up to $95 in the NMA zone with rebids and the last rebid was with The Loop for $95 but I never got anything. Then the next day I bid up to $95 in The Loop zone and when I added NMA as a rebid for $95 I got the Blackstone Renaissance which is in The Loop zone. Also do you think it is a better hotel than the Renaissance on Wacker? Just curious as I stayed there in April and I want to see what everyone thinks here. Thanks again.

I would go with 3.5* and for NMA you have the following rebid zones: Skokie Franklin Lincoln Park Hyde Park Midway Airport North The Loop Same ones for The Loop except NMA would be in there. Try it out.

This is a funny thing on my last trip. I had walked down to Millenium Park from The Renaissance on Wacker. I love walking all over and actually prefer it. As I get to explore the city and get a feel for it. Anyhow I took pics at Millenium Park and walked along etc, and did not even realize I was a hop, step and jump from Grant Park and the Buckingham Fountains. So I walked over to the Sears Tower, and went there, and walked along Wacker back to The R afterwards. So then on my way to the airport in the shuttle we pass the fountains, and I thought "huh?" and I find out that is where Grant Park is. So now I have to see Grant Park, Buckingham Fountains, Navy Pier and Museums for sure. LOL. As for quiet at night, I walked out of the blue line around 11:30pm on the Sunday after coming back from the Allstate Arena and it didn't make me nervous at all.

Would like to get two beds but if I can't then the King is fine. Total with taxes for the 3 nights is $339.99....Not bad. Once again everyone thanks alot! My 2nd Chicago trip will be a blast for sure staying in a good hotel.

These dates, I am guessing it is still quite a busy time of the summer? I am going to take whatever comes my way. Not taking a chance with Hotwire, would rather chance it with Priceline.

I didn't have time to do The Loop bids so I figured I would wait until tonight. Also I have had to do Jury Selection this week, day 2 tomorrow, ugh! Haven't been picked yet.. Will do The Loop when I get home. Hoping for The Renaissance again. But highly doubt it of Hotel Felix is going for $130 on Hotwire.

I did enjoy the location of the Renaissance indeed. I walked in every direction and had no problem. This is a tough one because Hotel Felix I read has some small rooms, I would like to get the renaissance again as the room was fantastic. So this is a tough one. Hotel 71 has some good reviews, is in the same area basically as Renaiassance. Hmmm.... Now I have never booked on HOTWIRE before, and they say for the 3.5* Mag Mile Hotels inclue Hyatt Hotels, Embassy Suite Hotels, Hilton Hotels, Doubletree Hotels, Westin Hotels and other independent and name brand hotels. Isn't the Hyatt a bit out of the way? I remember seeing Essex Inn, Palmer House, Hotel Felix, Hotel Sax, Hotel 71 and Marriot around near where the Renaissance is.

I am wondering if I should book the $111 seen as the location is good and the price would probably be pretty close to what is probably going to get accepted on Priceline bidding. The location is very much like the Renaissance Downtown on Wacker. So what do you advise here? $400 it comes to for the three nights, so $200 a person.

Just wondering what 3 star hotel this might be listed on Hotwire for $103 a night in the Downtown-Millennium Park-Grant Park area. Fitness Center, Laundry Facilities, Restaurants Thanks

I just came back from Chicago and stayed at this hotel. You won't complain about a thing. Nice hotel, nice rooms, perfect location, the L is right behind the hotel, red and blue lines are down Sate Street about a 5 minute walk, House Of Blues is directly over the river on Deerborn. You can walk everywhere from there. Enjoy!!

The one bed thng, like I had at the Renaissance, is fine. It is a woman co-worker. The R had a king size bed and a sofa in it. Beautiful room, loved it there. I will be letting you know my results on here. Thanks again all.

Either location zone is fine. Would a max of say $120 a night be fine? After I walked all over the place Saturday afternoon after I checked in and on Monday early evening after the rain stopped, everything is so conveniently located, I now know my way around pretty good. Although yes Renaissance is located perfectly. I walked over to House Of Blues, Hooters and Hard Rock so easily. Also I liked how the subways were so close to attend my two events on the Sunday, that was great. The seat sales here in Toronto for Porter Airlines are so low and ends tomorrow May 7th, so we figured doing 3 weekdays will be fine and I booked it today.

First and foremost I want to thank all of you for helping me with my bidding for my first ever trip to Chicago. I liked the 3 days I was there, even though it rained most of the time, and have now booked another 3 day trip during the weekedays this time with a co-worker. Tue August 14th-Fri August 17th. What would the hotel rates be like for that time? Anything like conventions or festivals happening? Enjoyed staing at the Renaissance Downtown Chicago, what a location it was. I was within walking distance of everything, loved it. Not sure of I could get it for that $103 a night win again but damn I would stay there again no problem. Thanks again guys!

Awesome. Same hotel and basically the rate is close to what I got. I am sure we both will be pleased from what the helpful guys say on this forum.

I bidded on priceline for Sat April 28th-Tue May 1st and it took quite a few bids and the guys on here will help you with a perfect strategy. It was my first time and I did The Loop first, then NMA, then both with rebid zones and ended up with The Renaissance Downtown for $102 a night, which the guys on the forum said is located conveniently along The River on The Loop side but within walking distance to The Loop subway lines and just a short jaunt by cab over the bridge for nightlife and restaurants and close to Michigan Ave.

I have definitely found this board useful. I have recommended it to friends. Hope they will use it as well. Thanks once agan all.

I must thank you AaronJB and Thereuare for all the help on how to bid. Without that help I sure wouldn't have known what I was doing and would not have ended up with this result. Being my first time going to Chicago, should be fun. Thanks again everyone, I appreciate it.
