  1. Being NYE I am not caring to have something so high end at a high rate, will hardly be in the room but no dump.. So let's go with least expensive 3.5* or better for the trip.
  2. From remembering last year the rates were up in the $400-$500 a night range for 3.5 and up on Hotels.com and Expedia.ca. So I guess I would go $250-$300?
  3. OK my bad for not being more thorough. I do not know much about the Boston Area, so as much help would be great. Like I do not want to end up out by Logan Airport when I am attending two events two nights in a row at the TD Garden and then taking the train up to Foxborough for the Patriots. Let's say 3.5 can be the minimum and I know it is expensive in Boston so would $290-$400 a night be what is expected to pay for 3.5* and up? I have no idea at all for December what the rates would be. So that is possibly a way out of range amount or is close. My guess is 4* goes close to $400 a night? So like I said I could blindly bid $290 and get a 3.5 star and be told I could have bid way lower. So as much help would be appreciated.

  5. Well usually the rates are like $150-$350 depending on if it is the Radisson, Four Points, Oakes Hotel, Marriott Gateway, Marriott Fallsview, Hilton or Sheraton. So if I was going to pay $150 I would just book on the hotel's site or Hotels.com or Expedia. So Let's say $100 unless saving $50 minimum is not going to happen then I will check groupon and travelzoo. September is somewhat busy but nothing like June-August where weekend rates are sky high. Changed dates to Fri Oct 4th-Sun Oct 6th Niagara Falls-*4---------$70--declined added West Niagara Falls-$75--declined added Welland------------$80--declined added St Catherines------$85--declined added North Niagara Falls-$90--declined Niagara Falls-3.5*-------$70--declined added West Niagara Falls-$75--declined added Welland------------$80--declined added St Catherines------$90--declined
  6. What would the average bid amount be for a 4* or 3.5* hotel for NYE? I seen Michael's Inn for $187 and Days Inn & Suites for $190 on Hotels.com and Expedia.com. Wondering what those would even go for to bid on PRICELINE
  7. I tried for Niagara Falls,Ontario for Fri Sept 20th-Sun Sept 22nd Niagara Falls-*4---------$65--declined added West Niagara Falls-$70--declined added Welland------------$75--declined added St Catherines------$80--declined added North Niagara Falls-$85--declined Niagara Falls-3.5*-------$65--declined added West Niagara Falls-$70--declined added Welland------------$75--declined added St Catherines------$80--declined I didn't add North Niagara Falls because that would be up on Lundy's Lane and that is too far from the action, *3.5 is their maximum star hotels I tried for Fri Sept 27th-Sun Sept 29th instead: Niagara Falls-*4---------$65--declined added West Niagara Falls-$70--declined added Welland------------$75--declined added St Catherines------$80--declined added North Niagara Falls-$85--declined Niagara Falls-3.5*-------$65--declined added West Niagara Falls-$70--declined added Welland------------$75--declined added St Catherines------$80--declined Anyone wonder what the best bid would be?
  8. OK I am all set for a Boston Sports Weekend Thu Dec 5th-Mon Dec 9th. Now when should I bid and what area should I start with and how many rebid zones are there for Boston? Not sure yet my max amount to bid, but I am not worried about it as I will just keep trying, just need to know what area to start with and what rebid zones are there? Thanks
  9. Having been to Chicago three times last summer, I will end up being a tour guide for my gf, she is pretty excited. Now flying into MDW, would it be best to take an airport shuttle or a cab? I don't think the CTA is too convenient to take to get there. Thanks again.
  10. I had changed dates from Fri July 26th-Mon July 29th to Thu July 25th-Sun July 28th as I was unsuccessful like I posted with those dates and bids but I was also unsuccessful with the following bids NMA 4*- $75 - $80 with Franklin Park - $85 with Hyde Park - $90 with Midway North - $95 with Skokie Loop 4*- $75 - $80 with Franklin Park - $85 with Hyde Park - $90 with Midway North - $95 with Skokie - $100 with NMA So I decided to try the weekend dates once again Fri July 26th-Mon July 29th: NMA 4*- $80 "failed" - $85 with Franklin Park "failed" - $90 with Hyde Park "failed" - $95 with Midway North---ACCEPTED Never stayed at this hotel and never stayed in the North Michigan Ave-River North Area before. My previous three trips I stayed in The Loop area: Renaissance Chicago Downtown, Hyatt Regency Chicago and Blackstone Renaissance. Looking forward to this stay at the Millennium Knickerbocker Hotel. Any info on the place would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again guys, my gf has never been to Chi-Town and she is looking forward to it.
  11. Wondering what this might be, $104 a night Express Deal. Amenities are Restaurant, Fitness Center and Business Center. I am going to guess Hotel Sax?
  12. I am flexible on my dates but decided to try the weekend Fri July 26th-Mon July 29th with no luck NMA 5*-$80 -$85 added Franklin Park -$90 added Hyde Park -$95 added Lincoln Park -$98 added Midway North -$100 added Skokie -$105 added The Loop All rejected Loop *4-$80 -$85 added Franklin Park -$90 added Hyde Park -$95 added Midway North -$100 added Skokie -$105 added NMA All rejected also noticed Lincoln Park now has 4 star hotels. Now I would try Thu July 25th-Sun July 28th but wonder if the same outcome would happen. Just curious to know what you may think I might have to bid up to? No need to ask me what the highest I will go would be, I want to know though what the amount might have to be so I get a successful bid. Hotels.com and Hotwire list Club Quarters Hotel and Central Loop Hotel for $134 a night (Canadian Dollars). Although they are 3.5 Star hotels.
  13. I do use the links, thank you to both of you who suggest it. Last year for ALL THREE of my trips to Chicago I used the links. Thanks again for reminding me to use them. Thank you also for the help for a strategy. Used it two years ago for Vegas as well. No need to start a new conversation for Vegas, just mentioning it is all. I am going to play around with my dates. Last year I did go for a WWE PPV in April, this year it is a PPV on Sun June 16th. I will start a new thread IF I DO in fact start bidding on some dates. This thread can be closed now. Thanks guys for all the info.
  14. Ouch...might have to go weekdays, that is a bit steep for me. Adding in airfare and the trip is too much. Boston was outpriced and now Chicaho seems for June, so will wait a couple of months and then look at August or September. Spring/Summer is out of the question this year. But I will use this board for info leading up to it as I did last year for my 3 Boston trips.
  15. Last summer I got July through the week for three days at the Hyatt for $98 a night and in August through the week at the Blackstone for $101 I think it was. So this summer I was thinking June. Now mind you when I stayed at the Hyatt there was a Pepsi Convention at the Hyatt, but got a decent rate anyhow.
  16. Must have misunderstood what I was asking. I have no set budget per night as I am first wanting to know if there is any type of events or conventions in town. If so I will change my dates and then go from there, if not then I will figure out what dates of those I listed and have a budget. No point in having a budget set and then be told "You won't get anything for that price because there is a big convention that week." I am flying from Toronto. I replied to the Boston Thread, never went ahead with it, could not get anything in my budget. Did not bid on airfare either, I was just curious in that thread. Answered to it as well.
  17. Was only curious so no bidding was attempted.
  18. Couldn't find anything in my budget so I never bothered to book the flight.
  19. Out of the three places I stayed at last year, this hotel tops them all. A nice boutique, quiet hotel, right across from Grant Park and Buckingham Fountains. Enjoy, great location and the staff here are very very helpful. You will find that you can catch practically any bus going north to get to Wacker or The Loop. I think 4-5 routes go by here.
  20. I stayed here last summer in July. Huge Hotel. Rooms were so nice, clean, and the beds comfy. The staff at the front desk are great. Being that it is more of a Convention Attendees type hotel I didn't know what to expect. Awesome place. Steps away from Mag Mile. Enjoy! They had put a card with toffee and two bottles of Evian Water on the desk in the room when we had checked into the room.
  21. Just curious before I do any bidding, is there any big events, conventions etc happening diring these two weekends? If so then I can change the dates to later. Will do 3 nights in the 4 night span, either Fri-Mon or Sat-Tue. Thanks. 4* hotel is what I will be going for like last summer. Much appreciated guys.
  22. This is a tough call being Boston is pricey. I don't know if I can get anything for say between $100-$125? That is why I want to see what the average rate is on bidding, haven't seen any for April yet so cannot gauge it other than looking at Expedia, HOTWIRE etc. Which are quite high.
  23. Looking at 3.5 to 4 star rating. Wondering what the possible rate would be.
  24. Wondering a good strategy for the 3 nights. How many rebid zones do I have? Sun April 7th-Wed April 10th.
