  1. I will keep taking a chance with Price.line Name Your Own Price. Niagara Falls doesn't have a ton of hotels so it is a bit easier to know what you may end up with.
  2. The Priceline.Express star rating is 3* and also add bed choice to the amenities. The Hot.wire one is also a 3* Clifton Hill Area Hotwire is 3* as well
  3. I am going to hold off for these dates, seen as when July 1st Statutory Holiday falls mid week, that weekend may not be like a long weekend as most have to work Mon June 30th. You can close this thread. It seems that Price.line recently split the tourist area into the two zones it is, Clifton Hill and Fallsview Blvd, which is a lot better. You have a better chance of knowing what you will get. I like it.
  4. ID For Priceline.Express Says amenities are: •Free Internet •Indoor or Outdoor Pool •Restaurant •Business Center •Fitness Center
  5. Using Bidding.Helper here are the amenities for the 3* -Free Internet, Indoor Pool(s), Airport Shuttle, Fitness Centre, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business Centre, Self Service Laundry, Internet Access, Golf Nearby Going to guess Baymont Inn & Suites
  6. This is our Civic Holiday Long Weekend in Ontario Sat August 2nd to Mon August 4th. Weekends are high all summer long anyhow in Niagara Falls. Here is what I tried: 4* Niagara Falls- Clifton Hill--------------$90---declined added North Niagara Falls------------$95---declined added St Catherines-------------------$100--declined added Welland--------------------------$105--declined added West Niagara Falls----------- $110--declined 4* Niagara Falls- Fallsview Blvd----$90---declined added North Niagara Falls--------$95--declined added St Catherines----------------$100-declined added Welland-----------------------$105-declined added West Niagara Falls--------$110-declined 4* Niagara Falls- Clifton Hill & Fallsview---$95--declined added North Niagara Falls-----------------$100-declined added St Catherines-------------------------$105-declined added Welland--------------------------------$110-declined added West Niagara Falls-----------------$115-declined 3.5* Niagara Falls- Clifton Hill--------------$90---declined added St Catherines-------------------$100--declined added Welland--------------------------$105--declined added West Niagara Falls----------- $110--declined 3.5* Niagara Falls- Fallsview--------------$90---declined added St Catherines-------------------$100--declined added Welland--------------------------$105--declined added West Niagara Falls----------- $110--declined 3.5* Niagara Falls- Clifton Hill & Fallsview---$100--declined added St Catherines-------------------------$105-declined added Welland--------------------------------$110-declined added West Niagara Falls-----------------$115-declined 3* Niagara Falls- Clifton Hill-----------$95---declined added Welland------------------------$100-declined 3* Niagara Falls- Fallsview---$95---declined added Welland---------------$100-declined 3* Niagara Falls- Clifton Hill & Fallsview---$100---declined added Welland--------------------------------$105--declined Will try again during the week. Pretty sure I may have to go to $150-$200 for 3.5*-4* and $125-$150 for 3*
  7. Take a look at the name your own price link and put in dates for Niagara Falls, Canada The following zones are: Niagara Falls- Clifton Hills, ON (This is the main tourist area of Niagara Falls with the older Casino Niagara attached to the Sheraton at the foot of Clifton Hill. They list it as Clifton Hills it is where the Comfort Inn, Thriftlodge, Travelodge and Sheraton all are located along the hill) Niagara Falls- Fallsview Blvd, ON (This is the much newer area where the Niagara Fallsview Casino is located with the two Marriotts, Hilton, Embassy Suites, Four Points, Oakes Hotel, Tower Hotel, Best Western Fallsview, Ramada Niagara Falls/Fallsview, Holiday Inn By The Falls are located) North Niagara Falls, ON (Super 8 and a bunch of older motels are located) St Catherines-Thorold, ON Welland, ON West Niagara Falls, ON (This is the Lundy's Lane area of motels and hotels) I recently won the Ramada Niagara Falls which is on Stanley Ave 2 blocks south to the Fallsview Casino and 4 blocks north to Clifton Hill
  8. I hope your stay was not disturbed too much from the big renovation of the balconies being redone on the older tower that faces Gerrard Street West.
  9. This is technically Canada Day Weekend, but the Statutory Holiday July 1st falls on a Tuesday this year, but Niagara Falls and all other cities will have festivities for Canada Day on this weekend. So I wanted to see if I could get two nights, probably slim with such high rates and Niagara Falls deals on Priceline are not that great. 4* Clifton Hill Area: $85-----declined added Fallsview Area: $90---declined added North Niagara Falls: $95---declined added St Catherines: $100---declined added Welland: $105----declined added West Niagara Falls: $110----declined 3.5* Clifton Hill Area: $85---declined added Fallsview Area: $90---declined added St Catherines: $95---declined added Welland: $100----declined added West Niagara Falls---$110---declined 3* Clifton Hill Area: $90----declined added Fallsview Area: $95---declined added Welland: $100---declined Will try again tomorrow night raising my maximum to $120
  10. Looking at this hotel, it is for $94 a night and the following amenities are this: Pet friendly, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business Center, Self service laundry, Internet access, Accessible for the blind, Accessible for the deaf, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Handicapped parking, Roll-in shower My guess is Washington Hilton or Omni Shoreham?
  11. I was looking on Hotels..com and figured I might be able to get a bit of a better deal on Price.line. It was almost the same rate I ended up with. It is part of the Victoria Day long weekend here in Canada, Sun May 18th-Mon May 19th. Started with this bidding: 4* Niagara Falls-Fallsview: $75----declined added North Niagara Falls: $80----declined added St Catherines: $85----declined added Welland: $90----declined added West Niagara Falls: $95----declined added NF- Clifton Hill $100--declined 3.5* Niagara Falls-Fallsview $75--declined added St Catherines: $80--declined added West Niagara Falls: $85--declined added NF-Clifton Hill: $90--declined 3* Niagara Falls-Fallsview: $75--declined added NF-Clifton Hill: $80---ACCEPTED I stayed at the Ramada Niagara Falls Fallsview winning off of here back in September for two nights. Clean hotel and location is great. Hotels..com has it for $93 and with taxes $112.44 and bidding with Price.line I got it for $80 and with taxes $102.06. If I booked it direct with Price.line it would have been $93 and with taxes $107.31 I am happy with the hotel but surprised the deal is basically the same. Again terrific clean hotel, busy too, great location and worth the rate.
  12. I had the Excalibur booked already for $175 for four nights but felt I would like to try another hotel if I can get a decent rate for the 4 day weekend. 4*---Strip South Vicinity: $45----declined added Strip North Vicinity: $50---declined added Strip North: $55---declined added Boulder Strip: $60---declined added NW Las Vegas: $65---declined added Henderson: $70---declined added Nellis: $75-----ACCEPTED Total is $349.12 for the 4 nights. I am happy as I have not stayed at the Tropicana before but know some who have and they liked it.
  13. Was looking at Expedia.ca, Hotels.com, Hotwire etc and was looking to stay at the Days Hotel which is right across from the Buffalo Airport, stayed there last summer. BUT decided that there is not much in that area for food etc so I knew I would probably get the Millennium across from the Walden Galleria. I started my bid at $40 and was declined but offered $48 without changing anything else, decided why not and knew what it would be. Free shuttle to the airport and being across from the Walden is good. I fly out to DC the next day. $48 bid $15.34 taxes & fees $63.54 total
  14. Thanks. Not going to bid. That place is too far and there are barely any reviews on it on Trip Advisor. Was hoping to find Days Hotel. Will probably use Hotels.com to book.
  15. Says in room accessibility. Would this be the Days Hotel across from the airport?
  16. I am hoping to land the Days Inn Hotel Buffalo Airport also called Days Hotel Buffalo Airport. Now there is a listing 2.5* with the following amenities: Free Parking, Free Breakfast, Free Internet, Fitness Center, Internet Access, Self Laundry, Pet Friendly The Self Laundry and Pet Friendly do not make it sound like it is it, all the rest of the amenities do. I am looking for it Fri Jan 24th-Sat Jan 25th.
  17. I was gong to wait until November to book a room but figured I would get it out of the way as my flight is booked. Got the Omni Shoreham for $94 a night. After being given advice on this I figured I would not take a chance bidding on Priceline and end up farther north. Seems convenient and reviews are favourable. This is my first time going to Washington DC and I am travelling solo. So I really did not want to have to pay $140+ a night just to be closer to downtown as I will be wanting to check out different areas anyhow. Thanks guys!
  18. OK I am traveling solo, so the entire cost is coming out of my pocket, not shared. So what are my options on areas? Should I start with White House-Downtown and add rebid locations? How many rebid locations do I have with DC? A strategy is what I need. If I am going to pay $150, I will just book The Quincy off their web site, so I would like lower than that. If possible.
  19. 5+ months? January is not 5 months away, 3 1/2 months from now is my trip. The flight is booked. Dates confirmed. Should I wait til November sometime to bid? What would be the average price you think I would get as compared to the $150 a night right now I would have to pay for The Quincy for example. Budget is $150 at the most, if I have to go more than that I may as well book The Quincy or Henley Park Hotel for that rate. Secondly, I have never been to this city, so I do NOT know the areas they break it down on Priceline at all. Meaning blindly I could end up staying near Dulles in Virginia thinking I was going to be near the White House. Thirdly I ALWAYS ALWAYS use the links on here. You guys have helped me secure hotels in Chicago for 4 trips, Boston for one trip, Niagara Falls for one trip and Vegas for 2 trips over the past 3 years. Thank you in advance. Advice is what I would like before I do anything, areas, what they are close to, what areas are more to commute from etc. I hope this is good enough detail.
  20. OK got a great seat sale on Southwest out of Buffalo for $97 return from Buffalo to Baltimore. Going to stay in DC. Now my budget as I was looking at Expedia, Hotels.com etc and The Quincy seemed it is well located and runs $150 a night. So my guess is that this is the average nightly rate for DC so I will go that high. My dates are Saturday January 25th-Thursday Jan 30th. What areas are close to attractions like Museums, Monuments etc?
  21. Definitely. I was going to wait a month to book. Is this a good deal or should I had waited?
  22. Planned a Sports Weekend in Boston. Celtics vs Nuggest on Fri Dec 6th, Bruins vs Penguins on Sat Dec 7th and Patriots vs Browns on Sun Dec 8th. I did my bidding this way: Quincy Market-Financial District 4*--$75----declined added Copley Square-Back Bay --$85----declined added Boston Common-Theater District-$95----declined added Boston Harborfront-Aquarium----$100----------ACCEPTED Average rate I found was $175 a night (Canadian funds on Expedia.ca) so not bad really.
  23. Now just have to hope no rain LOL. But Niagara Falls is a great place anytime of the year. I enjoy staying at different hotels too. Have read some average to pretty good reviews on the Ramada. I am sure it is a clean place and will be fine for a weekend getaway. Thanks guys for the help as always with strategies. This being my 6th hotel win with PRICELINE (4 Chicago, 1 Vegas and 1 Niagara Falls hotels)
  24. Was trying for this weekend, Fri September 27th-Sunday September 29th a few times as well as Fri September 20th-Sun September 22nd. Was always trying 4 star and 3.5 star. No success: Niagara Falls 4*- $75--unsuccessful - $80--rebid North Niagara Falls--unsuccessful - $90--rebid St Catherines--unsuccessful - $95--rebid Welland--unsuccessful - $100--rebid West Niagara Falls--unsuccessful Niagara Falls 3.5*- $80--unsuccessful - $85--rebid St Catherines--unsuccessful - $90--rebid Welland--unsuccessful - $100--rebid West Niagara Falls--unsuccessfull Niagara Falls 3*- $85--unsuccessful - $90--rebid Welland SUCCESSFUL Never stayed at the Ramada but it is located close to Fallsview Casino, just down the street from the Best Western and Wyndham. Lots of groupon deals for this hotel Sun-Thu but never any for weekends. A 20% savings at $90 a night. Priceline has it at $113 a night so saved $23 a night.
