extremely pleased to find a room in new orleans on valentines day & a parade day! i've searched for two days with no availability in FQ. very pleased to get this hotel in the FQ even though hotwire listed it as DT ? weird since country inn / suites lists it as french quarter. the actual address is 315 Magazine, regardless its close enough for me anyway, heres e info that came up on hotwire breakfast fitness pool laundry internet it is listed as a HOTWIRE favorite and it still available this morning if anyone else is searching also, the hotel is rated # 6 by tripadvisor Happy Mardi Gras :)

Thanks for the headsup on Hotwire....I'll check it out. I need to do some research on the areas though. All I know is we want to be near Churchill Downs butI am not sure of the proximity of the other areas. It may not be a big difference in cab fair. I couldn't decide what to do with this stop...so I checked my Hilton points I was able to book the Fraklin KY Hampton Inn with my Hilton points. It was a "bargain" at 7,500 points so I am finally set for the first stop. Sorry I have been such a pain with this! Since I have so much time before this trip with several different city stays I will do one part at a time so I do frustrate you too much :) :o ...on to the Lousiville stay :) and I will definately use the link provided to bid Thanks in advance, Jon

This is a very last minute trip...I just decided to run off with the kids and my mom this monring. Everything was overpriced because of the holiday. The "best" deal I could find was the Best Western for $148 a night for a g/t of $575 Priceline really came through! Started out at $45 for 3* denied rebid @ $50 and was told my bid was being reviewed and within 15 minutes I would have an answer. I was SHOCKED that this bid was accepted because of the holiday. Total price $234.68 I am expecting a resort fee since the price seems too good to be true.

still at it...no success so far I've tried Bowling Green @ $40 White House $40 Franklin also $40 bid up to $60 in Brentwood using free rebids It doesn't matter if we stay in TN or KY for this night as long as we are along I-65 within a couple of hours of Louisville, KY. just checking in.... we decided we'd rather stay in (around) Nashville but I was not able to win a room tonight. I have more rebids but it'll have to wait until tomorrow. here's what I did (probably need to move this post over to the TN boards) Brentwood 2.5 $50 denied added North $55 denied added Antioch $60 denied I really don't want to spend more than $60 on our first night. I'll keep my fingers crossed that I'll get lucky. I still have over two weeks. Thanks for all your help! I will keep the Candlewood Suites in mind but I don't have an Entertainment Book

Well, actually our first plan was Nashville but there is something going on there too. Nashville would have been about 8 hour drive and Bowling Green was another 1 1/2 I guess as a last resort we could just drive into Louisville but that is around 11 hours. I may have to go back to the drawing board :)

I am only interested in Downtown..I used 4 of the 6 zones because I know East has s 3* and I thought the airport did as well. I will try using them in a different order tonight and see what that brings. Am I starting too low for downtown?

I misread my notes...I bid on a 2* and then added 1* on the rebid. Sorry about that, I figured it would be better to keep track of what I was doing and I messed up from the start..lol :)

Here is the result of my unsuccessful bidding $45 3* DT denied added North $50 denied added Shepardsville $55 denied added SW $60 denied at that point I decided to try for 2.5 * so I started over $50 2.5 DT denied added Shepardsville $60 denied added North $65 denied It really doesn't matter whether I get 3 or 2.5* I'd be willing to pay up to $100 for 3* or $80 for a 2.5 for this stay. The 3*'s I found were around $190 and the 2.5's were just over $100. Any help would be appreciated Jon

I bid yesterday afternoon and was unsuccessful on my first try. I think I cna try again in 24 hours. ?? I want to stay along the interstate in route to Louisville so Bowling Green looks to be the best option. Here's what I bid 2.5* $40 rejected added 2* $50 rejected The lowest rate I've found was around $80 so I am willing to bid up to $60 on the room. Any higher and I'd rather pick the hotel. I also bid for Lousiville but I will post that seperately. Any help would be appreciated Jon
