I bid for a 4* at 5pm on the 28th of June, 2008. I was bidding for the same day. First bid was $73 Rebid was $78 Free rebid was $83 Bid of $88 was accepted. Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $88.00 Subtotal: $88.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $19.13 Total Charges*: $107.13 I tried to get a room with two beds after my bid but was told they didn't have any available for what it is worth.

I bid $31 for a minivan for August 2nd-10th(9 days) and was denied. Then I upped the bid to 33$ for the 2nd-9th(8 days) and was denied. Changed it to $32 for the 2nd-8th(7 days). Priceline suggested a bid between $35-$36 dollars. Not the best deal in the world, but still a good enough price for me...especially considering we are doing everything last minute. I would assume that Priceline works better if you plan your vacation months ahead of time. Normally I would have gone with sidestep.com, but after coming here, I can see the value in priceline. The best price sidestep found for the dates I ended up using was $450.29 through Hertz(Besides RentAWreck, which was $306.92...but the name just scares me off from using them). I tried to get the Red Lion 3* for $60 and was denied. Decided to go with a 2* since it was the last minute, and I couldn't afford to wait too long. $60 was my first bid on the 2*. I'm driving to Los Angeles, and didn't want to have to find a hotel along the way...so this seemed like the best choice of towns to stop in. This is the first time that I have used priceline, so forgive me if I've done something silly, or left out some information.
