  1. Sorry for such a late update. We ended up staying with a friend. I didn't bid at all. Sorry that I couldn't provide a data point. Many thanks anyhow.
  2. Just came back a few days ago. The hotel is VERY VERY GOOD! Very quiet room, nice view. And best of all, the Japanese restaurant in the hotel has VERY GOOD sushi buffet (all you can eat!) at $42 per person. Unbelievable food at such a reasonable price. As it turned out, there was a big convention going on during those days. That was probably why I had to bid $135. Highly recommended! Many thanks to all of you in this forum for the help! Charles P.S. I'll update my previous Priceline New York thread. But sorry, not much to report there.
  3. I thought I could get $130, or even $120, based on what I read in this forum. So, I bid from $100 at $5 increments, using bidding strategy described in another thread. I had to go for $135 before my bid was accepted. What's going on in that weekend? A football game? It's not a bad price, anyhow. Many thanks to the forum members!
  4. Hello, I've been lurking around this board for a while, although this is my first post. I wish to bid for a room in the Upper East side for 8/10/2005 one night. We need to get to the hospital at 70th Street/York Ave early morning 8/11. What hotels are offered by priceline and what are the price ranges? I understand that priceline has only 3* (or less) in UE. Are they okay hotels? Any suggestions? Since we live in NJ, we could get up early (like 5AM) and take the train to NYC. So, our budget is $100. Staying in NYC can give us 2-3 hours extra sleep. But if it's over our budget, we'd rather get up early. (Whoa, that's the price for 2-3 hours of sleep!? :) ) Thanks, in advance.
