  1. Initial bid of $41 rejected. Rebid by adding the Airport zone and upped the price by $1 to $42. Bid was accepted. Note that I received a counter of $12 after my $41 bid rejected. I declined that counteroffer...
  2. After several tries, I finally came up with this win. Kinda surprised me, because this hotel hasn't popped up yet on this site (or the other one) for a 3* hotel in the Notting Hill-Bayswater area of London. Byron Hotel 36 38 Queensborough Terrace London, United Kingdom $88 + Fees = $111.
  3. 1st try, got this hotel for $60+ taxes (74.25 total). $60 seems to be the going rate for this hotel. Hilton.com rates for this date were around $180.
  4. Thanks - I'll seek out your assistance next time (as well as use the savingsbarn link!)
  5. I started bidding for 2.5* and 2* in the Mahwah, then Secaucus, and finally the Meadowlands-Rutherford areas, where I scored this hotel. Submitted a total of about 8 different bids by adding different zones and lowering my star ratings. From this little experiment, I assume there is no way to get a cheaper hotel room north of Newark than $45 or so (I'm flexible with my hotel location, as long as it's north of Newark). Does anybody else have other (recent) experiences?
  6. My highest bid prior to the $89 was $85 (which was a no-go). Somebody else I'm travelling with got the same hotel (Tryp Rex) for $91 for the following period: 9/27-10/1/05, FYI...
  7. I have been trying to bid in Mardid (Old Madrid - Bourbon Madrid) 3* hotel category for over 2 weeks now. I stated bidding at $65, and finally won the hotel (Tryp Rex) for $89. Since there are not free-rebid 3* zones in Madrid, I had to ask others w/priceline accounts to bid for me under their acc't (using my name as the hotel guest...)
  8. Yup, I figured out it's the Holiday Inn. Thanks for your feedback! At this point, I'm a little reluctant to book a hotwire/priceline stay b/c I'm supposed to fly to FLL for the weekend with NWA in mid-September, and who knows if this trip will even happen (thanks to the impeding strike...)
  9. I read through the Priceline/Hotwire Hotel Lists and Tips for Florida, and could not decipher this hotel. Here are the amenities: * Near Beach (Accommodations are within easy walking distance of a beach) * Restaurant(s), * Pool(s), * Fitness Center, * Business Center This hotel goes for $53 a night (plus tax). Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
