Congrats, that's really a great deal on this property. It's one of my favorite places to stay in SF!
Too short to be a real review.. BUT.. The Marriott Burshire Conference Center in Towson is under heavy renovations. It appears that the guest rooms on floors 1-3 have been redone as of Sept 8. They are supposed to be done in November. In any case, I stayed there last night and even though the hotel was empty (the front desk said they had only 18(!) rooms rented) they stuck me on an unrenovated floor. I asked about this and was told that it was policy that Priceline reservations get placed there.
The rooms are HUGE, basically a large 1 BR apartment. But the unrenovated floors are clean but old and worn. My room had a cracked mirror and counter top, rips in the carpet and stains in the bathroom sink. The bed was VERY comfortable.
As far as a 2.5* in Towson, when I checked yesterday and selected Towson 2.5* was not one of the qualities I could select.

Yes, I was a little desperate as the hotels in the area I wanted to stay were all $150+ direct and I was trying to save some money. In any case, at 2.5* it can be hard to find areas that only have lower number of stars. Anyway, thanks for the advice as always.

This is a frustrating one. I actually was trying to get a 2.5* in the Owings Mills Zone.
$70 Rejected -- Added Zone with no 2.5*
$85 Rejected -- Added another zone with no 2.5*
$95 Rejected -- Added another zone with no 2.5*
$109 Accepted -- On this bid I added Towson which has no 2.5* and I got the congratulations you've gotten a 3* for your 2.5* price. :)
This was actually not the Westin Princeton-Monmouth Jnctn, but the Westin Princeton at Forrestal Village.

So I booked this same hotel for one day later at $57, needed a room for a co-worked one day earlier and decided to try $45, it went right through. Makes me wonder what I could have gotten it for and makes me worry about the condition of the unrenovated rooms.
Bid the zone 4* at $85 and got rejected, added 3* and bid $57 and got it the first bid.
Woops.. That should be August! (and I did book through savingsbarn!) :)
It is the ITIM Infrastructure Management Conference.
First bid $50 rejected
Second bid $65 rejected (with a note that it could be booked immediately at $82)
Third bid $75 accepted.
The $199 rate is for each not, not an average... I tried Priceline with a first bid at $120 just for the Sunday and Monday nights and it came back with a sorry, but we can get it for you at $188. I let it go as I'll just use the conference rate instead!
On a side note.. I missed bidding through savingsbarn because I used the link in the follow-up "You can bid again" e-mail from Priceline. I therefore made a $5 contribution via Paypal.
I will be attending a convention in Vegas from 11/4-11/9. The convention is actually taking place at the Venetian so they have secured a $200/night rate there. Anyone think there's a chance of doing better through some other source (Priceline?) for the Venetian?
Thanks.
Had 4* bid rejected at $125 and $150 added 3* and lowered to $65 immediately got Adams Mark.

I was very surprised to get it. With the big FOSE tradeshow in DC that week hotels are very tight. The Days Inn just down the road from the hilton quoted $229 night! I was thrilled to get this property at that price. Thanks to Better Bidding for the win histories and ideas of where to start!
