  1. Interestingly after looking at HW again today, there's a 2.5* for $77 with 75% recommended that now shows those amenities plus high speed internet access. So it would seem likely this is the Ambassador. I have a conventional cancel-able reservation at another hotel for $86 (it was discounted from $129 for one day earlier this week) that seems preferable to the Ambassador, at least for me, so for now I'm going to stick with that.
  2. Yes. I was surprised at so few listed myself.
  3. Even after clicking "see all amenities" those were the only three listed.
  4. With this one I ended up staying at a friend's condo in the Brickell area. Not exactly where I wanted to be but it was free.
  5. The dates are 4/14-4/17. The current price is $77. It's recommended by 75% of Hotwire customers. The amenities are: *Smoke Free Rooms *Pool(s) *Laundry Facilities (self-service) It's a good price for this area so I'm very interested. Any ideas? Thanks in advance! Used the BB link.
  6. Amenities are: Boutique, Near Beach, Fitness Center, Golf Nearby Rating is: "We are still gathering reviews for this property." Currently showing $66 for 12/4-12/6. The crossed out price is $142. Any ideas? Thanks in advance. Used the BB HOTWIRE link to start this search.
  7. They do serve that stuff, but in the small lobby/bar. It's not like a dining room with tables and waiters. There are no dining tables to speak of inside. There's a small porch section outside with a few blank tables (most people just have drinks there), but its not what most people would define as a "Restaurant." There are plenty of actual restaurants close by, but just not on the premises.
  8. Sent an email to HOTWIRE regarding the lack of restaurant and I included the description of the "lite bites" (see for yourself at the hotel website) and the HW simply called a desk clerk who claimed they had a restaurant. It's sad. I wasn't even fishing for a refund. I just thought they'd appreciate accurate information so they don't give misprepresentations to their customers. I guess Hotwire doesn't care. At least sites like this help us avoid these things.
  9. The amenities listed were: Boutique Near beach Airport shuttle Restaurant High speed internet Golf nearby Tennis nearby It said at the time recommended by 65% of HW reviewers. With taxes and fees, the total was $112.39 I know this place charges a $15 "resort fee." I've stayed at this and a sister property before and I find there's nothing "resort" about these places. But this is a great rate so I won't complain too much. I actually came very close to booking this hotel through Hotels.com for $190 total (but not including the "resort fee"). What a rip-off that would've been! Despite HW's claim, there is no restaurant at this property. They serve snacks at the bar during the day, but that's it. Used the BB HOTWIRE link.
  10. The Chelsea and the Whitelaw seem to have the same amenities. Is this true?
  11. Hi. Can anyone figure out what this is? The amenities are: Boutique Near Beach Airport Shuttle Restaurant Golf nearby Tennis nearby Recommended in 60 % of Hotwire customer reviews I've seen people on this board suggest these amenities mean the Chesterfield, but I got the Chesterfield in April, 2010 and it was a 2.5 star. Star level change since then? Yes, I used the HOTWIRE link provided by BB to check.
  12. First tried $40 with no bites. Got this on the 1st free re-bid. With taxes and fees the total is $56.60. Was really concerned about price and would've been fine with a 3* or even a 2.5*. But as that "best deal" dollar sign was next to the 3.5* option, it seemed that this was pretty much the lowest price I could get for this zone without staying in a dive. Not positive though. Used the PRICELINE link from this forum.
  13. Had bid up to $35 with no success. The next day, I forgot I didn't try $40 yet and bid $44 and got this property which I'm very pleased with. With taxes/fess, the total was just over $56. The cheapest published rate for this property is $99 (ironically through PRICELINE). I almost purchased a $44 2.5* option on HOTWIRE, but nobody was able to identify it so I gave PL a shot. I think I came away with a better property for the money.
  14. Used that HOTWIRE link and the same results came up for that 2.5*. The only thing I have to add is it currently has a 70% recommendation rate.
  15. Hi. I'm wondering if anyone can identify the following property: Ft. Lauderdale Hollywood Intl Airport FLL area 2.5* Amenities: Airport shuttle, pool, restaurant, laundry, high speed internet The Florida Hotwire hotel list doesn't seem to have any property fitting this description. Thanks!
  16. Ahh! The reviews of this place at tripadvisor makes it look like a house of horrors. http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g3...ch_Florida.html And the $15 per day "resort fee" (what resort?) renders this not a great deal. I'm now regretting this.
  17. Seems like a good deal. With taxes and fees the total was $116.71. The amenities are: Boutique Hotel Near Beach Airport Shuttle Restaurant(s) Golf Nearby Tennis Nearby I recall this board's Hotwire list as listing this as a 3*. I've been to its sister property, The Whitelaw, and if this is similar, then 2.5* is more appropriate.
  18. Thanks for the response! Yes, it's a "Best Value" for 8/17-8/19.
  19. Hi. Just trying to figure out the ID of this 3* in French Quarter/Downtown New Orleans. It's listed as "Hotel" and has only Hight Speed Internet and Fitness Center listed as amenities. Thank you.
