  1. Hi, i think we have to add the insurance manually to compare euro prices...
  2. Hey, i want to rent a midsize car for me and my girl starting 05/11/12 to 05/25/12 in Miami. Insurance (1Mio USD without any own contribution) should be included as well as a miles. I am German and i found a midsize class car for ~440 at Alamo. Their category would be "SC"
  3. hey, sorry for answering so late but i was quite busy the last days. But now our flight to NYC is fixed. Dates stay as mentioned in the opening post. my idea is: i would like to bid on a 2,5-3 star hotel in Manhattan. Btw: is it also possible to bid a flat or something similar? My fall back hotel would be in LIC. But it did not reserve it by now. Would you recommend to do so? Could you please provide me with a proper bidding strategy? What is quite important that we do not bid on an accommodation with longer distance to the main sights compared to LIC. I`m looking forward to your adice. Thanks in advance
  4. Hi, So we dont care travelling up to 30min, but it is important that we are situated in a "save" neighborhood. in general, it is no big deal to expand the budget by another 100 dollars. But we dont need anything special as wbe will only use it for sleeping purpose. We just dont want to spend too much. Given this, which areas would be fine for us? Could you give me the priceline numbers reasonable for this budget? would you recommend to bet on Manhattan, then new jersey and then on lic? Are there any other areas which make sense?
  5. hey guys, i am looking for a hotel in NYC from 05/06/12 to 05/11/12 for 2two persons. We do not request anything special, but a clean room, not too load with a good metro connection to the main sights in Manhattan. I checked the prices and saw that the Queens district is a good compromise of price and distance to the sights. My actual reference would be the Ramada Long Island City with round about 20minutes to the time square. price is ~650$. What do you think? Is the chance for a better deal using priceline? We are not demanding. The room has to be in in quite save enviroment with good conn to the sights of Manhattan. A distance of roundabout 30min would be ok. Are there any other districts that might match to price cap of - let's say 650-700$. And could you help me with the correct bidding strategy? I think there is some time left so i dont need to hurry. Greets Mattes Edit: it think the priceline area for queens / long island would be No 8? P.S.: http://maps.google.de/maps?q=3830+Crescent+Street,+NY+11101+Queens&hl=de&ll=40.755154,-73.936404&spn=0.000001,0.000871&sll=40.755225,-73.936692&layer=c&cbp=13,112.66,,0,-3.88&cbll=40.755154,-73.936404&doflg=ptm&hnear=38-30+Crescent+St,+Queens,+New+York+11101,+Vereinigte+Staaten&t=h&z=21&iwloc=A&panoid=AiFwgfRuxGE45cgT5UYO9A area of the Ramada is not that nice. What is your estimate? Is it a secure area?
  6. hey guys, we decided to be on the save side and secured the backup which is not fully refundable. we will kepp it as it is. now i will concentrate on booking hotels for my trip to nyc and florida and i wil use your ref links to PRICELINE / HOTWIRE. i would highly appreciate if you support me as good as you did with my trip to Prague. Just to introduce myself: i am German and i would love to support you with any information you need concerning travelling in Germany. Greets Mattes
  7. hey, thx for your answer. i am quite happy with my backup facility as it is rated "good" at booking.com and is located in the East part 1km from the central station. i think this should be a good starting point for sightseeing. as we limited our budget for this trip i think i will limit my bids at 58 per night or less as i do not know whether breakfast is included and if the hotel is located as good as my back-up. so i would propose to set the limit to 55$/night. another argument to use priceline is the following. i am planning a trip to NYC and Florida in May. Therefore i would like to practice the bidding strategy. I am looking forward to your recommendations.
  8. Thx for your advice. The 210 dollars are for the entire trip. But i will check your proposals. What would be thbe best bidding strategy then?
  9. Hey guys, i never booked a hotel using priceline before. i read some faqs about priceline and how to book hotels. Could you please support me with the best strategy. I would like to book a 3 star hotel in the East region. I just checked which hotel i would normally book: it is a 3 star hotel next to the central station. price would be roundabout 210$ including all fees with breakfast. So this would be my maximum price. Who can help me with the strategy? Has anyone experience with hotels that you get in that region using priceline? Thanks in advance! P.S: in the list i could only find this here. 3* Courtyard Flora are there no other hotels which are possible?:
