  1. Started at $100 and rebid twice ($105, $110). It gave me the message after first bid that I could re-bid without adding any other criteria by increasing my bid to $125.

Room Cost (avg. per room, per night): $110.00 (USD)

    Number of Rooms: 1

Number of Guests Per Room: 2

    Number of Nights: 1

    Room Subtotal: $110.00 (USD)

    Taxes and Fees: $24.75 (USD)

    Total Room Cost: $134.75 (USD)

Started my bid with the BetterBidding PRICELINE link.

  2. Yup, ended up getting the Sheraton @ $90. Thought this would go less since I saw an $80 successful bid for these exact dates.

Saved $53 total vs. booking with the hotel directly @ their $119 internet rate. Not that much, but it'll help with the crazy parking costs :)

  3. Hi,

I'm helping my boss book a last minute trip to San Diego on Xmas weekend. He wants to stay in/near Downtown with a max of $100/night.

Would greatly appreciate any bidding advice for a 4* for the nights of 12/24 and 12/25.

4* Hotels and price/nt from their websites:

    Hilton Gaslamp Quarter $151

    Manchester Hyatt $159

    Marriott Gaslamp Quarter $169

Marriott San Diego Hotel and Marina $169

    Omni San Diego Hotel $179

Sheraton San Diego Hotel And Marina $119

    Westin Horton Plaza $189

    Thanks in advance!

  4. I noticed that the Venetian is the only 5 star hotel in Vegas listed on Priceline. Does this mean that if I bid on Priceline and specify that I want a 5 star hotel on the strip, I am either going to get the Ventian or nothing?

Yes, the Venetian historically has been the only 5 star hotel consistently available through Priceline. From what I've read I think Bellagio came up 1-2 times a few months back...the only time it made an appearance. So yes, pretty much you will get the Venetian or nothing at all.

  5. I checked availability last week and regular rooms ($179) were still to be had on the Marriott website. As of yesterday, Marriott's site showed only Junior Suites ($279) available on Saturday 9/3. Hence, bid up to $105 yesterday with no success. I checked a few more times today and a regular room rate would pop up at various times, only to disappear again in minutes.

Tried bidding 2 more times when the regular room rate would pop up on Marriott's site and was successful the 2nd time! I bid $95 because recent posts were won around that same price and I didnt' want to waste time to have the room slip away from me :)
