  1. Just booked this 3 star property for $77 a night via Hotwire. Didn't see it on the List of Hotels. Look like a decent place close to downtown Austin. Will work for a quick weekend business trip. Full list of amenities were: Free Parking, Free Breakfast, Free Internet, Pool(s), Business Center, Laundry Facilities (self-service), High-Speed Internet Access, Accessible for the blind, Accessible for the deaf, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Handicapped parking, Roll-in shower
  2. Thanks. I didn't realize I had any messages. I am booking some more rooms today and will make sure to use your Hotwire or PRICELINE links!
  3. This hotel is listed on the BetterBidding Hotel List as a 2.5 star, but Hotwire now has it listed as a 3 star. Free parking and breakfast, which is very rare in downtown Houston. Also has a pool and hottub. Full list of amenities was: Free Parking, Free Breakfast, Indoor pool(s), Fitness Center, Pool(s), Business Center, Laundry Facilities (self-service), Accessible for the blind, Accessible for the deaf, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Handicapped parking, Roll-in shower
  4. Bump The hotel I mentioned above is still available on HW. Now at $70 a night. Any clue what it is? I'm thinking Tropicana
  5. Yes, I was searching for those dates, although I'm changing my strategy a bit. Now I am searching HW and PL for just the 21st-23rd, and I will use a $100 Hotels.com voucher to get a room at the same property for the night of 7/20. I just tried on PL and bid up to $67 for those two nights and didn't get anything, although HW has a room offered for $69. Here is the Strip South 4* for $69 a night on HW for July 21-23: Resort Casino Restaurant(s) Free parking Fitness Center Business Center Free Internet Pool(s) Golf Nearby
  6. Still no luck. I just bid up to $71 and ran out of zones. Hotwire has a 4* Strip South hotel for $75, but I've never used HW and don't know what property it is
  7. Yes, I have already tried $60. I wouldn't say it's my max bid, but I've seen people get rooms at those properties for less so I'm hoping I can get a room for $60 or even cheaper. I seem to have the best luck with PL when I wait until closer to my check-in date and the property wants to sell a room rather than let it go vacant, but I've already purchased my flights so I wanted to try to confirm my rooms early if possible.
  8. Could have sworn there used to be a Strip South and Strip South Vicinity. Oh well, thanks for the help. My dates are 7/20-7/23. I'm looking for a 4 star on the Strip South area. Trying to get it as cheap as possible. Was hoping for something under $60 a night, so I figured the Tropican, MGM, or NYNY. If I need to wait until closer to the dates to get something at that price then that's fine. Looks like HOTWIRE has the Trop for $85 a night so I'm not too far off
  9. I've been trying all day to book a room in Vegas for this July. I'd like to stay in the Strip South area and it's not listed on the choice of options. I've tried changing the dates, closing out the browser and re-opening, but it still doesn't show up. Anyone else had this problem with Las Vegas or any other city on PL?
  10. First bid of $90 was rejected. Rebid at $91 by adding 3.5* to my options because the Downtown Zone doesn't have any 3.5 stars available those dates. Retail rate was $179 a night
  11. Thanks for the info. Just booked the same hotel for the 13th-16th.
  12. I just did a search for the Downtown Zone that ranged from 4* to 2.5* and bid $85 each time. Still no luck. Can't believe I can't get a 2.5* in NOLA for $85 when you can usually get a 4* for around $60. And it's driving me nuts that I can't figure out what's creating the demand down there next weekend.
  13. FQ is far and away my first choice, but Downtown would be acceptable, unless I got stuck in the Hyatt. We will spend most of our time in the FQ and the Hyatt is a pretty good walk from there. I have stayed in the Sheraton before and would love to stay there again. Any idea what hotels those are that you're seeing?
  14. I've been bidding on 4* in the French Quarter for at least a week. My max bid used has been $106 and haven't had any luck. Looking at the retail prices it seems that there is a significant increase for that weekend for all star levels in all zones. Anyone know why? The Saints won't have a home game that weekend. Everyone that's there for the college National Championship game should be long gone by then. The only thing I can think of is that it's MLK Weekend so it is a holiday weekend, but a look at the calender of wins for MLK weekend last year didn't show an unusual spike in pricing. Thanks in advance
  15. I've been trying to book for next weekend, but have not had a bid accepted yet. The reason I assumed the Sheraton changed zones is because when you search New Orleans hotels on PL and limit your search to the French Quarter area the Sheraton appears. If instead you limit your search to just the Downtown area then no Sheraton. Does the area PL has a hotel in change from their intial list of available hotels when you click "Name Your Price"? Sorry for aksing that kind of question here if this thread isn't the proper place.
  16. Looks like Priceline has moved the 4* Sheraton from the Downtown zone to the French Quarter zone
