  1. Thanks Betterbidding.com ! I used info from this site and the appropriate PRICELINE links as well. We are attending US Open and have stayed at this property before. Things seem to be a bit cheaper this year.
  2. Looked at discount sites for Chelsea area hotels price ranges, set my target price and tried for 4-star property with no luck, then downgraded to 3.5 stars for this win.
  3. Yes, I always start out at Betterbidding.com and use your links. Thanks - this site has saved my some nice cash over the years.
  4. We typically do not stay in Midtown, or go down to 3.5* but Chelsea area hotels were not yielding to our bid this trip. This is a new hotel for us, and I do like the area. I ended up splitting our trip using two hotels since a longer bid span of 5 nights did not allow for success. My husband is leaving after the first leg of the trip anyway. Thanks Betterbidding and Priceline.
  5. We typically do not stay in Times Square, or go down to 3* but Chelsea area hotels were not yielding to our bid. I ended up splitting our trip using two hotels since a longer bid span of 5 nights did not allow for success. My husband is leaving after the first leg of the trip anyway. Thanks Betterbidding and Priceline.
  6. We love the Chelsea area ! (... and Betterbidding.com too). Using the PRICELINE links from this site and a couple of re-bids at 4-star level, I started at $105 for Chesea area (Price.line then offered a room at bid level of $137) instead rebid at $117 and then again at $122 for a win for the Doubletree on 29th Street. We have stayed here before and it is perfect. Thanks to everyone on this site for their contributions.
  7. A new addition to the Priceline Hotel List ? We have never landed this hotel when bidding for Chelsea, but reviews look good. All 4* in Chelsea (and 3.5* and 3*) are going for over $400 on their sites (and discount sites)for this date, so we are satisfied (but not thrilled....) with this result. Sometimes you just have to pay the price.
  8. We were trying for a three night stay, but including Saturday night Sept 1st prevented a winning bid at as high as $235 (stopped there). We wanted Chelsea area, but also included SoHo and Times Square in our bidding. We have a room we can cancel for Saturday night, and will continue to bid hoping prices come down as the date nears. Thank you for all who work and contribute to this board. Of course I always use your PRICELINE links.
